Um, well... the real pong predates atari... it was a stndalone game "Odessy Pong"... I went from that to an APPLE II+ with 48K of memory... Oh man that was a long time ago... I'm the original generation of gamers... will be until the day I get fragged by the big man in the sky. Aloid

You know you've played too much Sins when you try to use your scroll wheel to zoom out in email to see more messages at one time. I'm hooked and it's only a beta.
50 cool points awarded for the Aliens reference. Revenge is a dish best served cold... ... it is very cold in space...
Devs have confirmed that some form of scavenging will be in. And necromancy is evil. Excellent! Thanks Ron
That is excellent! I'll be able to smash my 9 year old in Sins multi-player... well until he wakes up and actually sits at he keyboard. :O
Ah the wonders of the search button... I'm bringing this one back from the vault because I like the idea. It would be a good way of getting extra metal, some crystal and possible tech (rarely though). I'd also love to see lots of debris after a battle from all size ships. Epic battles deserve epic fields of dead ships... the debris could float into the planet and dissapear after a while... and if you start saying that there would be too many extra objects for the
Here is another vote for more diversity in the star system. Anything to spice up the initial discovery of what is there and anything that can make you want one planet/location over another would be wonderful. Planets spining on a different axis, moons, odd planetary rings, unstable locations (do gas clouds currently impact ship systems?)... deralict ships floating around. I'm sure the group has lots of beter ideas...
got another request on ICO for a way to buy/sell metal and crystal with a shift or control key option Or just place the icons on the UI for one click shopping...
This could be present with one of the broadcast towers upgrade, they could exactly like trade stations, in that the liners go from tower to tower, this makes you a little money but more importantly would spread culture faster. Twould be nice. ... and ... and... and... we could have a new research tree for cruise ships! My ships would have the Pizza Oven upgrade along with the Brew Pub upgrade... My culture would spread like wildfire!
to flesh this idea out more... - more techs aligned in secific "verticals" (beam, missle, etc.) - occasional special ships/upgrades/abilities at various levels in each vertical - occasional branches in a vertical making a new one (possible missile and torpedo tech branch into better planet busting tech.) - higher level tech becomes more expensive and/or time consuming, but not so much that it takes forever. This might depend on how deep the tree is. Don't want to keep
I'm starting to see the point to this thread in my games. I know we're getting two more races and assume they will play differently... but within each race (or just the humans) it would be great to see diversification. In "other" games more focused on strategic decisions you research though a deeper tree in each area (beam weapons, missle, torpedoes, scanners, sheilds, etc.). You end up specializing in certain techs if you want to emphasize them. If you find yoursel
These pleasure cruises could go to non-colonizable areas "for fun" and every once in a while get jumped by a small band of pirates... This would force you to secure areas with a couple small ships. hmmm... maybe that's too much of an annoyance...
Yahoo! Looking forward to playing with the speedometer. I'll have to leave early from work today... feeling... sick...
... I'd prefer research stations contributed to a research rate and there were no requirements to research this or that technology, just time. The way it is now allows for no long term research choices unless you have the space to research far up the tree. ... There is a really good point in there. The research limit being tied to the number of research stations means you're stuck and stalemated if you can't expand. You can't resear
Just because research is free doesn't mean you wont have the challenge of choosing what to research. There is still the time it takes to research, and what techs you think are important to research will certainly be different than the other guy's. Not really. Most people would probably just settle into a plan and queue up everything they want. Then it's just a matter of waiting for new ships, etc to come available at X time in th
I agree that this should generally not happen, although I do think the pirates should make reclaim-runs on their base periodically if they lose it. I have not played enough to see the effects of society influence, but it would be interesting if a society that was discontent long enough would spawn pirates/rebels or the like. that would mush the beginning of the game. however if y

It would be helpful if those areas that can be researched more than once showed 1:2 or 1:3 all the time so I don't have to hover over the tech to see if there is more research in that area to be done. Yea, this bugged me at first too. Then I realized that they color-coded it! Green number means there is more to be researched. Thanks for pointing that out. It just seems like it should be a little more obvious
I tried cntl and it does not work either... More input: It would be helpful if those areas that can be researched more than once showed 1:2 or 1:3 all the time so I don't have to hover over the tech to see if there is more research in that area to be done. If you highlight a fleet icon it should show you where that subselected ship is on the map when zoomed out. Having a lot of fun learning about the game. Just saw my first pirate base... aaarrrrr! <img src="http://i
Game speed needs to be addressed. I have other issues, but if this was fixed, the game would be 10x better than it is now. Else take out the RTS part and call it a 4x, and make it turn based. The fun factor is slipping away... Happiness -1 Make it adjustable... some of us enj
Wow, this is an impressive game! Sorry if this has been posted... not enough time to read and play... Quick input: In the planet/ship window on the left side - need to be able to select multiple units at one time using the shift-click convention. (ex. 5 ships of different types... I select the first one and shift-click the last one and all the ones in between get selected.) Right now I have to select each one individually and it's a pain. If there is a way to do t
You're right Ron... I should have been more specific. Named fleets were cool.
Striking fear into the hearts of all who oppose them! ww.pinkspaceponies.com WWW Link I'll totally Join! It's all a trap... don't join! They may look all cute and soft on the outside, but they are really
IIRC Space Empires had that feature. I really liked having "The Grand Fleet" or "Home Guard", etc. If it doesn't require too much programming, it would be a good bit of chrome.
