If I'm not mistaken, 2012 is supposed to correspond to the coming of the next astrological age, either Aquarius or Capricorn depending on what people believe our current astrological age is. Many ancient civilizations followed the Zodiac and often based their cultures around whichever age it was at the time. For example, the great sphinx was supposedly built during the age of Leo, and Christ was born during the age of Pisces. Biblical and egyptian references talk of a sudden

While I agree that the Seige AI is terrible and seiges are very unrealistic. The actual game mechanic makes it very easy to defend, especially against a computer. If there is an opening in your fort wall or a door that is open, the computer automatically goes there and you can concentrate fire at that point. Blow a hole in your fort wall and watch the comp line up to be slaughtered. A person will attempt to be more realistic, so what you can do is concentrate all you

I loved the game! I don't think that can count the number of FULL games that I played. The gameplay was great, but one of the things that I really enjoyed was the ability to name your ships and fleets. I would literally have hundreds of ships and each one of them had a name (Executioner, Blade, Freedom, Devestator, etc...) The strategy was also very good, you had to really plan because if you sent a fleet to the opposite side of the galaxy, you would be without those

I love the game. The Road to Independence campaign was very cool, but now that I'm actually playing the grand campaign I have more freedom to research/explore/trade/attack whomever. The Load times can be a bit on the long side, but the battles are very good IMO. Sometimes ground unit and ship pathing can make you scratch your head and be like wtf are they trying to do. Ground warfare seems to take more micromanaging than fleet battles. With fleets though I

The way I did it was simple. I don't think it says they have to be allied, just you can't be allied with anybody else at the time that you destroy them. -Get the max amount of people on a huge map. -Play like you normally would. -Let the Hard AI's beat up on the medium ones you put in there. -MAKE ALLIES WITH WHOMEVER YOU CHOOSE. -When you go to destroy a hard player, dump all of your allies when it is safe for you to do so. -Re-ally with pe

DON'T get PotBS. I played it in Beta and I thought it was pretty good then, but once you get past level 21 it is ALL grinding for money to replace ships that you lost while having fun for like 20 min. Don't get me wrong, the ship combat was fun, but all of the missions are pretty much clones of 4 basic types and the swashbuckling is poor at best. You also spend at least half of your time traveling on sea which is very boring as there is no autopilot or anything to get you where you ne

I have this same problem (except I am through an apartments internet). People like you and I are just going to have to wait until patch 1.1 because there is a certain port that you and I need opened and our network admins refuse to leave it open for security purposes.

Reply to 6112 in Sins Multiplayer

Thanks the_Monk, that was actually very informative as to how networking/port forwarding/routers/firewalls work. I think I am pretty much screwed until 1.1 comes out though because I am one of those University/dorm/apartment people. Do you think that I would have any luck calling the ISP and having them open 6112 (or any other ports) for me?

Hello, I used the www.canyouseeme.org tool to find out if I can "see" the port 6112. I could not. I live in an apartment complex where the internet is provided. The complex has a T1 or something and all of the apartments have their own port on the switch that they use (not a router). From what I gather, 6112 is pretty much essential to playing multiplayer so my question are these: How do I get 6112 enabled? Do I need to call the internet provider f

I found mine too. I almost fell out of my chair when I did. LordKosc is correct though, as far as where I found mine. They are on every map (what is in EVERY map in sins?).

Have any of the people that pre-ordered received their box in the mail yet? I have not. This happens every time I pre-order a game, it comes out and I am stuck waiting on it in the mail.

Make sure you have "Show pre-release versions" checked. Just to the right of that it should have a couple buttons that will download and install the game for ya.

Whatever happens, I think something needs to be done as far as a fix to this. I am not a big fan of the "I WIN button" strategies because then everybody will use them. If you play multiplayer and your opponent has 2 Dunov's and you have 2 cap ships and you both have pretty equal support ships and your fleet will get destroyed by default, which strategy will you take? I might suggest making the Dunov's damage less...

Reply to Flagships in Beta Feedback

I would like to see the flagship have some difference between the other cap ships besides getting to start out at a higher level than its brethren, whether it be the flagship is bigger, has a different icon, paint job, "aura" of some sort. I also think that eet has a point. In WC3, there was a "starting Hero" mode and I do think that is comparable to our flagships now. Whether the devs want to deviate from this simple game option or not is up to them, but making the flagship different

If you either mouse over or click on (i can't remember which one) the amount of credits you currently have, it will show the planets and their income rates. The ones in red are the ones that you need to upgrade... I realize that people are probably using this already and still wanting a new tool, but this is what has been working for me for the basic income upgrades.

Is there a way to select a certain type of ships quickly? Lets say I want all of my flak frigates to attack fighters but I want everyone else to attack something else, what would I do? In other RTS's that I've played it was that you'd double click on the unit and it would select all of them...
