Since Demigod isn't even really modable yet, I doubt that GPG is going to be giving out overviews on thier AI code anytime soon.

Favor is awarded the same even for different play modes. You get extra favor for specfic things like most damage done, buildings destroyed, kills, assists, ect. So even though you might have destroyed 3 of the fortresses, someone else destroyed more towers and took the award you had the best chance for.
Come on now people. Some of you are acting like they released the game knowing there would be issues. As far as everyone knew the game was 99% ready to be released and the multiplayer would be fine. Sure, there were a couple bugs that were known but not fixed, but nothing game breaking/reason to push back the game. The problem was that the multiplayer system didn't scale like they thought it would combined with the early release that screwed everyone. Could they have run a larger beta and per
The game is not difficult to understand in concept. You fight creeps and demigods to gain expirience and gold. You use that to level up and learn new skills and buy items and/or upgrade the citadel. A good trick to get a basic grip on where things are and what things do is to slow the game way down (click the '-' key a bunch of times with adjustable game speed on) and explore the menus. This is what a tutorial would psuedo-teach you. Personally, I've never used a tutorial which wasn't
Ok, here's what it comes down to. Regulus is great at ranged fighting. However, once you close the distence he goes down quicker then an ice cream cone in hell. He also doesn't start with enough range to freely shoot towers(I just double checked this, so YES IM SURE). You have to upgrade his range at least once before you out-range towers. Snipe feels cheap, but it's what he is, a cheap ranged fighter with a glass jaw.
Knowledge gained vs time lost. Everyone has thier own opinion.
The AI as is in Demigod is pretty horrible. They run head first into a horde of creeps, towers, and two demigods to get killed. They love to cap portals but not make attempts to recapture a portal in their own base. I've watched an AI Sedna do a good 10+ circles in the middle of a battle and not attack anything. They don't understand that UB's spit will remove their 1500 hp they just healed up to. And this is just general stuff they should do automatically - It doesn't even taking into accoun
Did you pay attention to the fiasco that was the demigod launch? This has nothing to do with DRM or Steam vs Impusle or anything like that. It has to do with ease of use and ease of implementation. If Stardock hosts all the games on thier servers then everybody should be able to play if they can connect to the internet. There's no port forwarding, or wierd comp settings, or anything else to prevent users from connecting. It saves them a lot of pain.
It's 5:30 to 8:30 in the morning in the US where the majority of players are located right now. So no, there aren't going to be a ton of games at this time of day. In a few weeks when the internation product has been picked up by more people hopefully there will be more games at less peak times. Until then, I still dont see a handful of cutom games at the worst time of the day to be that bad. And during evening hours in the US the number of custom games is at like 30 or more.
More then likely you had a connection glitch and were dropped from the game. In the 'real' game, you were dropped and replaced by an ai. In your game you saw everyone else dropped and replaced by ai.
I seem to be having trouble getting into the lobby when connected to the host or even all the game members. This is pretty uncommon(I joined about 8 or 10 games and only had this happen twice) but enough to make me question why ~10 seconds after I've connected to everyone(which was only the host in one case) I'm still not in the lobby. I saved both logs after it happened the second time.
I played a tower spammer Rook last night. Towers are not OP, and I would even call them UP late game when I can run head first into and then past the camp of 8 towers to kill a fleeing demigod(as Oak). Early/mid game they can be frustrating, but they're only OP if you think you can run head first into a tower camp with a rook in the middle. Plus, as many other have pointed out - putting up a camp of 6+ towers takes a minute or more. SO DON'T GIVE THEM TIME TO SET IT UP! Even if you di
What are your comp specs?
And increase the whining about unbalanced favor. Though honestly, I do think one favor item is powerful enough. Two would be too much.
I hope this is a joke of some kind. They haven't made any balance changes since at least the day 0 patch, and Im not even sure their were balance changes with that. Erebus' bite will be nerfed soon, but I don't even think that was rediculously overpowered as you say Bramble Shield and UB are.
Yes, the patch has made things worse for some users and we all want to play the game vs others online. My own online experience has gone from enjoyable, but flaky, to completely unplayable, so I understand why people are frustrated. But posts like these dont help anything. Stardock and GPG know thier are issues. They are working on these issues - faster and with more clarity then most other companies. Patience is a virtue. I know people are tired of hearing 'give them time' but it's what's ne
Having lots of trouble with custom games. Seems like it doesnt want to connect to more then 3 or 4 people at a time. Havent been able to get a single game going. Also, I had an 'ImpuslePlayer' run in during the beta patch and since the new patch it's been replaced with 'test2' or 'test21-29' depending on the number of players who are displayed like that.
In this case it's damned if you do damned if you don't. Everybody wants release dates, everyone wants those release dates to be exact. 'Soon' or 'this week' dont quell the new threads about it and if a specific release date is given and not met then we get problems like this even though there's still 8 hours left in the day. Or if it the release date is met but the product doesnt meet expectations then we get a plethora of threads saying they should of pushed it back even though we would have
Considering the time frame given was for eligibility and not distribution of the coupon, I think you are setting yourself up for dissapointment if you expect it today.
Dont remove the window. Just change it so that when someone willingly ends their game the 30-sec time out window doesnt apply. Surely that can be accomplished.
Lag is actually rare for me. Only one game can I remember lag being so bad I considered quitting. Most games experience hitches during the game, but thats to be expected imo. This is ussually with people between 70-150 ms too. I've even played some pretty lag free games with people in the 200's.
Is there any way to uninstall the patch and revert to the latest release version without reinstalling demigod? The only custom game I see since I installed the beta patch is a password-protected test game hosted by frogboy, and I can't catch anyone on skirmish.
No, you have to download all of Demigod again. That's why archiving is useful. However, these are slow times, even if their ussually is a handf
Actually, there are some very good reasons to roll your own outside of "run on other OS's". The first being, to use the example of .net. Which version? v1, v2.x, v3, v3.x or a newer flavour I'm not as yet aware of? What happens when Microsoft retires the runtime components of the earlier version? What happens when you discover that some of the API functions in the latest version don't quite spit out th
Quoting NickJames, reply 7The title of my post may have been a little misleading. I`ve been to all the store`s mentioned above, It`s not that I just can`t find PC game`s at retail anymore. It`s the quality in which theyre released. Example, Call of Duty 4, It came in a box when I purchased it. It included a DVD jewel case and a 10 page install, Keyboard layout guide. That left me feeling a little empty.
No, vanilla.
