Here's a thought, you could make the advent superweapon give permanent (or long lasting, at least) debufs on ships (or structures) at the target planet. For example: +100% weapon cooldown, -50% shield mitigation (because demotivated), or for structures, +50% build time, -50% resource extraction rate, and weapon debuf for starbases/tactical structures. Though i admit, the exploration idea would make me play advent. :)

I just finished playing a huge random single-star map with me and 9 hard AI FFA. After about 2 hours of play, I took a screenshot with steam, and attempted to view it while in-game, and it crashed due to a C++ runtime error. (The next ones are probably unrelated.) Later, about every 30-45 minutes or so the game would just go black screen and then exit to desktop. No error message was given, and all mini-dump files are 0kb in size and contain no data. A number of th
I had an AI novalith my moon with 2500 hp. After impact, it had 0 hp but was still mine because i had a starbase (well, 2 actually...) with enforced loyalty thingy. So, I'm pretty sure just having one at your homeworld will stop this, which imo, if you are playing with capital world victory on, you should probably have a starbase there anyway....seige ship rush by vasari superweapon would pwn too heh. And, although it isnt playable yet, that could be game breaking because you and your all
Brad, you just made my day.... And, as previously stated in this thread, quad-core support would be much appreciated as well, although i don't know how much more work it would take to do that, or if it's even possible at this point.
ok, thanks, just wondering. Yeah, i do have to agree about the fleet formation issues with large groups of large ships.
Just wondering, will the Anubis ship be bigger now, cause in the show, at least, it dwarfed all the other Goa'uld ships.
I have to admit i lol'd when i jumped to a pirate base and got lagrangian beamed by the rats. :) poor lvl 6 cerberus.....
oh....that would have been good to know considering my homeworld bordered a wormhole in the game mentioned above..... :P
I tested the minimod and it was hilariously awesome. I played the tauri against a team of 3 humans, 3 vasari, and 3 advent, all on unfair. By the end i had a fleet of about 100 daedalus ships, etc. Ended up killing about 45 cap ships 4700 enemy frigs in my path to victory. Back to the mod tho, i think it's comming along exceptionally well. 1 thing i do have a question about is why do the tauri have wtf uber hull tanking? In the shows they ONLY shield tank. If they take more than a few
oh, and by the way, it's LAN games, as in "Local Area Network", not land games. The screen for LAN games would tell you that anyway, but guess ya didn't really look that hard while trying to start your 8 games. And if it was diplomacy, we know it has issues, I haven't gotten through a multiplayer game without desyncing yet. However, the original is very stable and entrenchment is somewhere in between.
I wholeheartedly agree. Strangely, the issues the entrenchment/diplomacy started occurring much more frequently after this last patch, so that would seem to indicate that that is where the problem lies. I still have not actually been able to even get near to the end of a multiplayer game of diplomacy (all of the times, starting sins up fresh). I will try to get on this weekend with a friend and download the desync kit so that we can try to get to the bottom of this. I would like to su
"He did have Ancient knowledge and from what I recall was able to actually best the Asgard who were pretty close to having Ancient's level tech (shield at least I think) and were the only ones who actually walked away from the Ori supergate massacure." - J808 Sorry, my bad, I got confused by the wording of your post :P And yeah, he's not "dead"' per say, which is why I just said he was "gone."
@ J808 Anubis never had any Ha'tak at any Ori battle because he was gone by the time Season 9 started. In the Supergate battle, those Ha'tak we either Lucian Alliance or Free Jaffa ships. I was more talking about the Anubis mothership that was at the last episode of season 6, when he destroy Abydos and a Ha'tak Fleet with lightning-beams using the eye things.
Looks good guys, keep up the good work. Btw, would it be possible, when both sides of the mod are done, to make a combo mod that has the wraith, asurans, tauri, asgard, AND goa'uld in it? I, personally, would find it pretty epic to attack some wraith hives with my epicpwnage-Anubis-Goa'uld-mothership-of-death. The balancing might be fail on that^ but it'd still be fun.
Thanks Blair.
tbh I never noticed the pirate guns had a problem..... no desyncing fix? :(
Ok, so in the last week, I've tried playing 4 online games with a friend and 3 of them desynced within about the 1st hour of play. The other one crashed and then the autosave we loaded from desynced. Entrenchment and Vanilla Sins both work fine for us and we haven't experienced any problems like this in the last few months with them, just Diplomacy. I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing these problems and if the Devs are working up a patch? I
Yes, the devs already said that they were not going to make everything to scale, the main reason being: do you know how bloody long it would take to cross a sun's gravity well if it were to scale with planets, ships, etc? :P Theoretically, the cannon could launch a rail-gun missile NOT going near the speed of light (say, maybe 1/2 to 1/4 c) and then a split second later, the warhead would open an advanced phase space window, slowing it to not use phase lanes and go real
If you scale the novalith cannon and warhead to a planet in Sins, the cannon would be more like a 100 or so miles across and 10 or so miles across, respectively, assuming that the planets are Earth sized. A several mile-wide projectile, even if it were nuclear, would probably annihilate a planet (or at least a good deal of it). Considering that asteroids go much slower and are not filled with explosives (in most cases :P), the target planet would become uninhabitable at best (at least for a l
It's not like they can say, "Hmm....I think I want to make an epic Stargate mod." 10 seconds later: "Hey look, it's done!" (Though I admit that would be pretty cool :P)
Also when being the TEC, build a couple marzas with the missile barrage ability + you pretty much just own everything. You just need some of those frigs or kols mentioned above to cover them from strikecraft :P
yes, fascists are indeed opposites of leftist/communists/progresseives. It's just that they are so opposte and radical (not that all liberals are radicals) that their actions are almost identical, though their motives remain opposites. In the end most of those become totalitarian/statist/authoritarian governments.
Have you read it all? if you have, then I MAY listen to you... So, say you're in school. You're taking an advanced math class (say, calculus). The book that goes with the class has the most convoluted writing in it you've ever seen in your life (and there is no answer key and no outside help is aloud) and there is a descrepencey between me and you on a certain part of the math involved in a series of the problems (neither of us knew the exactly the right way to do the problems, but bo
Ok, sorry to kind of back track this conversation, as my last post and the response with questions about it were like 4 pages back (and yet still within 24 hours....), but here we go. "Those are terms that conservatives are calling liberals -- According to the conservative posters here, Obama is guilty of associating with "radicals." I myself happen to have anarchist leanings (only because I don't get out much, and I am under the mistaken impression that most people are like me
You know, what I find really funny is that almost all of the arguements liberals/progressives use to refute "radical" conservative ideas can be used against them.... Does it occur to anyone that maybe CNN and others might be slighting their news into a more favorable light for the democrats, and it's not just that Fox news is some conservative-whacko-show? Also on that note, Obama's response to his poll ratings dropping (because of his health crae reform plan, which will end u
