A lot of strategy games for me at least do get repeditive. Once you level up and have built all the ships the game gets very SAME SAME. It takes a special game to overcome this, where the combinations that can be achieved are limitless and people can use their imagination. Also an element of chance needs to have been built in so that even the largest fleet\empire can be outclassed by good players. I cannot imagine more that 50 ships per side really. Is their more in an armada. Whats the most capital ships anyone has had in a fleet?

How about stargate? Although I think that also could be too few ships. I agree star wars fits the bill, just not so keen. I'm all star wars out. I mean its like ww2, its exhausted and rehashed too many times
Was just thinking that I have not seen morale modelled yet in a space RTS\game Is it time, or are ships just immune from morale for the most part. They are large after all, and all those escape pods make for safe passage when the core blows!
Once again judging from the screenies and the community posting here. This game is fertile ground for so many mods. Mainly I was thinking [B]Star Wars[/B] - bit over this franchise though [B]Star Trek [/B]- could be good, ships always seemed to be a bit prissy though [B]Wing Commander[/B] - I especially like the ships from the movie that everybody hated. This is a really hard core universe. Even a [B]Homeworld2 [/B]mod - perhaps they come to the worlds of the inner core
Just curious, those who have the beta, can you tell me whether large ships can have subsystems damaged. Now I am not talking about targeting subsytems, just wondering whether lucky hits could say, disable a capital ships main batteries? Or is it health bar to the bitter end?
