Hi, I just received an email with a link to a PDF file, the Customer Report... ... Are you serious??? If it's really true what I read, which I can't believe, than you've made Google's 'Don't be evil' statement a joke! I only have Sins of a Solar Empire, and it's an awesome game. I bought it and got straight into the beta (which is why I bought it then, to play it at that stage). Since then I've been amazed with the support, updates and involvement with the comm
Sealab? Where are you seeing this?
The alt tag for the images on the gameplay page is 'sealab'. This is on IE7, on Firefox the tags are not shown (add a title tag for that). =)

This has probably been mentioned before (my time), but I'd just like to say that the Sins website looks great, and the forum integration is excellent! So GJ to the webteam. =) Although I'm still wondering who or what 'sealab' is. Greetings, Warpath (Cardassian Union)

Hello, I've skimmed through the posts above, and didn't see it so I'll just ask here. What is the versionNumber for? Is that the map version (as in, mappers update their maps and increase it's version number), or the game version? (beta 1, 2, 3, 4) Thanks, Warpath (Cardassian Union)

Yes its the 64 bit version of either one (Vista or XP) that has had the problem described in reply #9 by Grimduck. The problem should be fixed in version 1.2, however since I do not have a 64 bit version of Windows I cannot test it myself. The problem was an Unhandled Exception on startup. Please tell me if it runs on your Vista x64 without this error. =) Thanks! Warpath (Cardassian Union)
The server has been updated with a new IP. As im on dynamic ip, it might change from time to time, so check here if you got problems connection to it.
You could use a DNS service like [link="http://www.no-ip.com"]no-ip.com[/link]. You would get a free domain name (like: soase.no-ip.com) and a small application that regurlarly updates your IP adress to the DNS server. So even if your IP changes, the domain will still point to it. =)

I have updated the application to version 1.2, please see the changelog in the top post for what's been changed. Sharing Account Since I've added sharing accounts I've unfortunately had to delete all the maps already on the server. A sharing account allows you to delete the map from the server, for instance if you wish to post a new version of it. Please create a sharing account and upload them again! =) Windows 64 Bits If you use Windows XP x64 /

[edited] This line: CodeBase: file:///C:/Program%20Files%20(x86)/SimpleMapManager/SimpleMapManager.exe leads me to suspect you are using a 64 bit version of Windows. I've looked it up, and apparantly there is a problem when executing .NET Framework applications that reference 32 bit COM components. (in this case the devIL library, which I use to load Targa images) I've already applied the solution (for those interested, its located [link="http://library.kfupm.edu.

Hello EvilTesla-RG, First of all, thank you for sharing your maps, they're ace! (I've tried a couple, not all yet) I've tried to implement all your suggestions as best I could, however the 3rd party map editor application I cannot control, but I have added some options to get that working (if not now, then perhaps in the future). On to the suggestions: Open From This was already available through the File -> Add Local Map option in the main menu. T
My only concern is that the game usually forces you to have opposing players in the same starting system -- did that happen here, when you tested your map?
No, I set the teams in the galaxy file for the players, and in my tests each team is placed in their own system. This is also the reason it starts at team 2 (instead of team 1), because I should've started at team 0 (the programmer's 1 so to say). I've tested with locked teams and it worked as planned. <img

This is an 8 player map based on Systems of War which I modified. The setup is: - 4 stars with each 6 planets (4 terran & 2 desert), 2 players (teamed up) per star - 1 star in the middle with lots of stuff (same as Systems of War) - Increased starting credits/metal/crystals to get underway more quickly The idea is that the team at each star coordinate their efforts in defending their home system

What A multiplayer dropped/rejoin option Why In (large) multiplayer games the chance of someone tripping over his/her powercord is always a danger. This is especially bad when it happens a couple of hours into the game. The multiplayer game will have to be ended, and a save loaded. I wish to suggest using the existing savegame mechanism and expanding it. How 1. A player is dropped from the game (powercord alert) 2. The game freezes, and a sa
