also, to adress ur "real life" statement, look at iraq, we dont even actually know who or what were fightin, i mean anyone can call themselves al-quada and than they can freeze all ur bank-accounts and travel privileges just in case!!! without a shred of evidence! But i'll just stop here before i fuck up the topic of disscusion ;p anyway, in real life the "enemy" can be even more elusive...
with lots and lots of scouts.....or a small map............yeah.....but overall?.....
this would be usefull in singleplayer but in multiplayer it really cuts the "backstabbin" part of the game cause u cant secretly ally with ur enemies and "betray" the others positions to the one ur really allin with. also keeping the ones ur backstabbin believin ur not allied with the enemie but only with them just rulez ;)

photoshop just rulez above all, even if u were to make it in ILLUSTRATOR or FLASH its better to export ur file into photoshop cause it just handles pixels better.
oh and just in case NEVER, EVER USE PAINT FOR THIS. it'l really fuck up ur resolution ;)
I used a hubble picture (wich are free to all mankind) as the background and took a screenshot of the ship wich i cut out in photoshop and placed on the hubble pic. however, make sure u choose u background first so u can match up the lighting. and all thats left then is resizin :D and ur done.

u would have to take out the bounty system for realism with the borg though as with ferengi or something u dont. i mean imagine payin the borg to attack ur neighbor :NOTSURE:
that's what ive been sayin for a long time now. u could also make the raid strength determine the type of borg ship. as in a sphere in smaller and a cube in large raids. however u need to be carefull how often they come so they dont mass up and destroy everything and everyone since they should be pretty strong.

also usualy they try to jump away before their strongest ship dies as its very expensive to replace, especialy at higher levels.
what works for me is a big fleet of like 4-8 capital ships, 30 enforcers, and 40 carriers. as cap ships i use 2 of each exept for 1 colonizer and one "harrasment" ship. the cap ships and the enforcers will do their own work but the carriers cant attack so what i do is i keep all my carriers circling the outter edge of the gravity well, this keep em moving and out of range of the enemy(although they can follow offcourse) and pumping bombers and fighters into the fight, also they
