Don't wait for retail just get from stardock with the Buy Now link at the top of this page. You can choose download or download with Box + DVD etc. I got box+download sent to uk. Box took 2 weeks to arrive but while I was waiting I downloaded and played the game. Box was handy for paper manual.

Have you forwarded port 6112 (tcp) to your pc's IP address from your router?
Ctrl+(number) example Ctrl+1 for 1 heh.
I am from the UK. I used the buy now link at the top of this page and got the box sent to me. I was able to download and play the game straight away and then the collectors edition arrived by post two weeks later. My card that I used automaticly changed $ to £ and game cost ~£35 including the shipping.
Valve/Stardock have the right idea. Stardock seems nicer than steam for ofline play though.
You kidding me? You say "fairly fast" when your computer essentially has the best video card and almost the best CPU on the market? [HR] I have a athlon xp 2400+ the pre athlon 64 processers. I only have 1GB of RAM and I run a ATI radion 9800 pro overclocked. With this I run the game at 1600X1200.
"I can wait no loooonger!"
Vasari voice is easy the best. "our ships have left Phaaaazzzzze space!" My fav race by far.
I play at 1600X1200 - I don't know if this is still considered high resolouton as there are dell 30" monitors that go well beyond this!
If you are having lots of mini dumps here are some tips to reduce them. Turn down the gfx settings from very high to high or lower. Play on smaller maps.
You can also destroy with culture! I am note sure if this is ironic :)
Destroying the planet is the only way.
60 means there are just 60 people living on that planet. This is due to the unforeseen effects of the 'run-away obesity' epidemic of 2134 severely limiting living space.
Ships move faster in towards the planet/sun and slower away already.
I have retested and either I was completely wrong or what I was seeing was the fleets line up for the jump.
Note that by default the game zooms to pointer - you can change zoom to be only on the selected ship or object in the options.
Ctrl + left click on item or ship. Or double select the ship or item.

Game plays like a great blend of [link="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carrier_Command"]Carrier Command,[/link] [link="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homeworld"]Homeworld,[/link] [link="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Master_of_Orion_II"]Moo2[/link] and [link="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/StarCraft"]Starcraft.[/link] It has the large map free flowing but 'slow' RTS feel that carrier command had. It has the 'space opera' look and feel from Homeworld. The strategic empire management that made
If your talking about single player I would say good is beating a locked team of all three races vs your race on hard. This is not as hard as it might at first seem. Your only 'godly' in single player if you have beaten the challenge that is 9 team locked opponents on unfair! In multi-player well there is always going to be someone better than you unless you make the game your job.
TheRedMaw your a legend!
The AI does not abuse the blackmarket like online-players do so go ahead and patch. :)
I think 1.03 is defiantly better in single player. In multi-player you would need it because even though there is a balance discussion 1.03 is what people are playing online.
I hope impulse will be able to patch my win2k install :) I have been ok so far with sins but would not be nice if the new downloader just locked us windows 2000 people out.
