You think that buying from stardock the makers of the game is not good enough? If you buy with a credit card your insured if it all goes wrong anyway. :) Lots of people form Europe and the UK have got the game from stardock you even get the bonus of having a collectors edition box - you will not get this if you wait on a UK release. You do realise that buying on-line you are getting the physical box AND the ability to download and play IMMEDIATELY after purchase? This also mean

you never have to direct the building thingys. On your new planet or asteroid just select it and then use the buttons there. Don't bother selecting the building ships.
This is clearly just a troll post no need to reply! (opps! :( )
Keep in mind the price you pay will depend on how your currency converts to the US dollar. £1 = $2 at the moment.
Yes it is collectors and I have it was only £35 even after they sent it across the pond to the UK!
Use buy now button at top of forum and get box from stardock. You can then download and play while you await your copy to arrive by post!
Why would you not like to buy the game on-line? I got the box from stardock and also while I was awating delivery was able to use the downloader to install game. This cost just £35 and is the collectors edition. What benefit do you gain by buying in store?
I am going to test all this again but I was sure this was single ships... I will update after my testing. Keep in mind I may simply be wrong!
People only get upset about the patches because it is a great game if it was rubbish they would just leave the forums for something better!
QUOTE If you put two phase inhibitors in a gravity well, do you double the time ships can phase out? If not would'nt it be great if you could load up on them and basicly trap any fleets that warp in, and the ships would have to destroy the phase inhibitors before they could warp out? Why black text?
I am inside the outer circle and outside the inner circle. The ships move in to the edge of the inner circle and then jump. If they are inside the inner circle they move to the edge of this inner circle as you would expect. O....) * ) O planet * ship The ship here above moves to the left to the inner circle edge before jumping. O...*.) ) In this more normal case the ship moves to the right until it reaches the fi
To do this in stardock central select program then use File archive. It should then just download the file. You can then use install from archive when it is finished.
Try archiving the program then installing from the archive - this may help :)
I would just like to add here - I play with the fleet size set to low on my on-line games and ship build speed set to fast to compensate. This has made for a smother play experience with 1.03. I play V and even though they are week on credits it can still be a fun game. A bit of tweaking to the black market would go a long way I think perhaps it could just be that there is a low limit on the amount that can be purchased as currently it seems to be unlimited. I think if it were a small r
What I mean is if you move to the line and then go a bit further and request a jump your ships about turn fly back towards the planet then about turn again and jump. Why would they not just jump?
If you turn on the tactical overlay or hold down the Alt key you can see where you need to be outside to make a phase jump. However as it stands if you move far away from the planet and then ask for a phase jump the ships move IN towards the planet right to the nearest edge then TURN around and phase out. I would have guessed that they should just be able to phase jump from anywere outside the gravity well of the planet as long as they are in the 'Phasing Arc' that points towards their de
I was in a newbie on-line match last night - I will post the replay in another thread. Anyway I beat my opponent and I am ashamed to say Ships were involved. I agree this part of the game seems overpowered!
In another thread someone stated that there is unlimited range in the z-axis. Is this not the case?
Have you tried this online D-spoon? I am a little skeptical but always open to new ideas!
Tested again and it is hit and miss - only way to make sure turret is in range is to move the cap in a bit.
I am from the UK and I got the game + box from stardock was ~£35 inc postage and was collectors edition. I however just used stardock central for the install and not the CD as it takes a week or so to arrive. The game is P2P that is there is no central hosting server - only a chat room in which to create player hosted games. Thus you have no compatibility problems. PS if you don't have it get Gal Civ 2 for a bit of a slower paced game singleplayer for you sins downtime :)
I find Gravity bomb is the 'bomb' when you want to kill those caps!
This was fixed for me or at least they were working for me last night.
Anyone else a bit rubbish when Micro-ing there scouts? I am guessing it is just me then :(
Look into all the ways of increasing your economy and mining. This way you will easily beat the AI. For example you should upgrade your populations on your planets and asteroids as soon as you can as this quickly pays off in increased income.
