Ok, waiting like a little girl who's about to lose her virginity.. :) Tim-
Simply amazing story.. Well done! Would you mind if I posted the first three parts in a sci-fi forum I frequent? I'll assign you full credit of course, and link back to this thread so others can keep up to date.. Keep it coming, and I'll wait to hear your permission before copying the story.. Cheers! Tim-
I've played the largest map, and so far I've only found 4 of them, but some people are reporting that they've got them all in a single game?? In my very first game, I played me against 4 hard computer players, large map, and I own two entire start systems, and I still have only found 3?? :) One thing I have noticed is that some people do not explore the planet 100%. You have to explore 100% to get one.. If it's there of course.. LOL Tim-
Hi all, well it seems a lot of people don't know what they are and what they do; so here goes: 1. Kinetic Intensifier Effect: Damage Increase 12% Effected Ships/Structures: Everything that can fire 2. Resilient Metaloids Effect: Hull Repair Rate Increase 15% Effected Ships/Structures: Everything 3. Manifest Domination Effect: Culture Spread Rate Increase 25% Culture Resist Increase 10% Effec
On question on build 2? Umm.. What about the Capitol ship in the opponents main base? You know, the one that the Soya embargo is supposed to just sit an not be bothered by anything? With the LRM's spamming to the opponents home base, what do you suppose your opponent might be doing to counter this little strategy of yours? :) Tim-
Yes but on low of close to the lowest settings. Tim-
Don't know if anyone has posted this yet, but other than scouts, perhaps either adding a spy tech/cloak to the scout, or being able to research a spy plane of some kind that is undetectable unless your opponent researches the required spy detection tech .. ?? The "spyplane" could sit in an enemy gravwell and report via the gui any enemy fleet actions within its range. The report could include a pulsating curser around the spyplane to indicate the location of the d
[quote] To the OP .. Play larger maps! You're unbeatable strategy goes all to hell when you play larger maps! Even if you play FFA and 10 players the game dynamic is completely different. I agree that LRM's are like light (or maybe better) Cruisers early, and cheap ones at that, but position is really, really important on larger maps. Tactics are important, micro, micro, micro!! I make tons of three and four ship fleets and micro them to focus fire on ANY sh

Thanks, I'll give it a try again tonight. Tim-
Hmm .. That doesn't work though? At least it didn't last night when someone actually needed to pause. The game kept moving and the credits, crystal, and Iron kept growing and you could move your ships? Am I missing something extremely obvious? I feel so embarrassed if this is the case, but seriously, the pause/break button was not working for either of the players? Tim-
Hi all!! Wow, what a game!! I love it, and as an old bastard of RTS, guys like me have been waiting for a game of this scope and nature for, well forever .. One question though. Where the hell is the pause feature in game? Mainly LAN games, as this is all I play .. Help! Tim-
Ah, I see, this explains it a little better. My question to the players and testers would be, do you find this sufficient enough for replayability and forcing your hand in engaging the enemy in both AI games and MP games? Blair thanks for clarifying this. Tim-
I take it you're a developer Blair? Is the randomizing of resources .. Check that. Currently there is only one resource, correct? Why? Again, please I freely admit I have not played the game, and have no idea for the feel, but I did get a sense from reading that things seem boring after a time? Why not have more resource types, similar to what one would expect to find in a diverse Galaxy with many life forms. One can not expect the life forms to evolve in the same way, and this wil
Other than the typo's and poor rushed grammar, by whatever do you mean? :) No seriously, what was unclear? Tim-
Hi All! I've been following this since Beta one and I have some ideas for the final version. It seems as though there is some hesitiation as to the final product with regard to replayability, AI performance, and overall independant feel for the races. My idea: 1. Create a random string in both single player and multi-player games that allows for random resource allocation and type prior to launching. (more on this later) 2. Assign, and affix resourc
