Regarding the Germans, I've spent a fair bit of time working on the Wiki myself, and I would hazard to say that the Germans have received less attention than most of the other factions present in the game universe. Unlike the Soviet Union, the Democratic Federation, or even the Empire of Japan and the Tawhid (Islamic state), their "origin story," as to why things are the way they are is largely lacking. For whatever reason, the popular focus has been, at least w

I REALLY hate to say it, but Monte Cristos have become my favourite sandwich.
I love you guys, I really, really do. Nazis, the USSR and the Western Allies in space. I've been following this since just after the switch was made from EaW to Sins, and it took me a whole 20 seconds to go, "Hey, this is right out of those turtledove books." Tying the fiction you've built right into the news posts with the hyperlinks to your wiki is also quite clever, something more major mod teams should pick up on, as it adds a lot more depth into what you're trying to build. I'd offer to
See, you shouldn't have mentioned controlling interests in Chips Ahoy, as now you've raised my bar in what I expect. A single cookie will no longer suffice. Also, due to a blizzard currently enveloping Vancouver, I can't actually get anywhere near the games store without freezing to death (-20 with wind chill right now), so referance materiel will be rather spartan. Looks like your dauntless will have to wait ;P
A Dauntless eh? If I am promised a cookie for completion, I may consider it. I have now returned to my place of habitation, and given the amount of snow and ice outside, i won't be leaving for the foreseeable future, so give me work boys.
I'd certainly lend a hand Prezo, I however only have access to gmax, rather than a full 3dsmax suite, and there's a store not far from here I could pick some of the BFG models up from for referance...I hope. Im out of town for the next two days, but I'll give you a shout on msn after then (the_cdn_mob [at] hotmail [dot] come). Just don't ask me to do Tyranids, I have an artistic capability for machines, but nothing biological.
While I barely touch this forum, despite its obvious superiorty to the ones I frequent *cough*failplanet*cough* , I felt that if nothing else, I could say I fucking love you guys. So many BFG mods have surfaced for innumerable engines, never to see the light of day. Yet even now, I can watch my pink Retribution Class Battleships tear into their identical brethren. A most uplifint start to what I hope will be a long-lasting modification. I'd offer support in any way I can, but my 3ds skills ar
I've been playing a Huge map against 9 AIs on normal (yeah, I'll admit I'm not that good yet), and after I had taken about half of the first system, they would commonly send fleets with 3-5 caps at me, and use most of the hardware their faction has. However, they do seem to enjoy the basic frigates and seiges more than one would expect, but still, having 150 of them plus 5 capital ships warp in from 3 seperate empires each can make an...interesting bloodbath. Edit: Just remember, TEC AI
hmmm is it done yet?
Ding Ding Ding! And here we have the first annoying fanboy/troll, everyone feel free to hurl obscenities at him, in the spirit of the internet.
Well, I've used the following to fleet to conquer two star system, and am currently working on a third, with 6 vessels lost since the fleet was formed (dumb luck probably) 11x Kol Class Battleships, all level 8 at this piont 1x Dunov Class Battlecruiser, level 8 as well (EMP blast, I love you) 1x Akkan Class Battlecruiser, Level 7 with full targeting uplink (fleet of snipers, huzzah!) 1x Sova Class Carrier, level 7, can always use more fighters 50x Kodiak Class Gunships<
I tend to just name them after other vessels in various pieces of sci-fi and history, and once I find "lucky" names, I use them quite often. For example, the HIMS Chimaera tends to die rather often, while the HIMS Victory has not been destroyed ever, and is a lovely level 10.
Yeah, I've got a couple somewhat reliable allies, but the AI seems rather finicky and tend to betray me at any given moment.
I'm sure there is a better way, but to ask an ally to attack/defend here you click on one of their units, and it shows up where in the "unit order" box in the bottom left part of the screen.
Ok, so I've been playing the game for a little while now, and have come to the conclusion that huge maps are a nightmare. Been going at it for about 6 hours now, have half of one star system under control and have as many cap ships as I can get, mostly Kols, and a veritable horde of frigates and cruisers. My adversaries are doing much the same, just took on about half a dozen marzas backed up by at least a hundred cobalts, and what is really starting to bug me is wormholes. As I understand it, w
Well here in Vancouver, it is supposed to be here tomorrow, looks like I'll have to kill staticstarter to get the one copy they'll bring in, oh wait, you didn't here that from me....
Hmm, so if its tuesday for the Americans, that means up here in snowy Canada I have at least half a week more to wait... Well, hopefully some reviews will start popping up, at least I'll know what I'm getting into.
While I do think limits are practical, they do need to at least be a sever-side option. I know its been mentioned here before, but I just want to chip in my two cents. I know a lot of people complained about SupCom's army sizes, but it had the option for unit limits, something like 500, 1000, 1500, 2000, and something simple like that would make just about everyone happy. I still remember the burn on loading up Empire at War and finding out the battle limit was 20, woohoo for four star destroyer
Ah, that raises another interesting question, what could blair be doing that is of great important, after the game has gone gold. I sense very pleasent surprises in store...
damn, and I thought Vancouver was expensive. Luckily, I'm from walking distance to work, so I just keep mine at a family member's house out in the suburbs, so it only costs an arm and a leg for my shoebox, in the quarter of a million dollars range.
The Tyrant, not bad, but whenever someone takes it out, you have given them an excuse to say "Sic Semper Tyrannis" like when destroying a battleship in a naval combat game, and they can say "I sank your battleship" and don't get me started on when someone brings up cake...
I'm sorry, but I can't stop laughing, you all think it will actually come out in our lifetimes!
sorry for confusing, but i was aiming my comment at eets, but you all ninja posted in front of me!
well damnit man, how am I supposed to detect sarcasm in text? At least spartan uses a profane number of smilies so you know he never means anything!
a "pleb" is short for plebian, the lower-middle class citizenry of the Roman Empire, usually the city of Rome itself, i.e. the fancy term for peasent. Oh, and just to be safe about the fee thing, we should just re-arrange the stars to "Sins is 100% free to play online!", so whenever some confused fool looks up, there is the answer!
Been drooling over the possibilty of USSR in space since you guys were operating back on EaW (good move switching by the way!), and just wanted to show my support. Also: Dev Journal link doesn't seem to work, and don't see the section on the SSP forums either.
