Is there a way to view where my rally points that have been set? I'de like to see if they're set up properly before I go redefining the hold lot of 'em. Thanks. (I'm chilling out now, sorry for being so confrontational in my other posts. That was before I was aware of how powerfuly certain features were when combined together)

Yah. I guess I could just hotkey every single planet and every single fleet... But it'de be nice if there were buttons... say ctrl-tab or something that I could use to just cycle through them, especially planets. EDIT: Tabbing through subselections! Forgot about that. That combined with the search functionality... Brilliant. IC I owe you an apology, certain aspects of this interface are BRILLIANT!

k... after even more time with the game, I think most of these things are acceptable actually. The Report dialog system does fine and isn't used enough to warrant some elaborate interface system. Switching mouse button zoom would be nice, but it's acceptable. Starcraft used ctrl+click to select all unit types, we can use alt+click. Every game since then has used double click for this functionality, but here the double click is used to lock the camera to targets... so which shoudl be

Is there a way to cycle through my Planets? Or my Fleets, or My factories? Hotkeys to cycle through these itmes would be very helpful. This way I could move around my empire without having to click so many times. Is this in the game somewhere? Is it planned? It seems essential to efficient RTSing on this scale.

so... Let's say I have 5 or six factories scattered about various planets in the solar system. What's the best way to command them? The search function or ctrl+F selects them ALL. Nice. But if I start cuing things up it only cues them to one factory. Painful. I heard something somewhere that if there were multiple factories the game would spread the cue out among them. Am I wrong? Does this just apply to multiple factories in one grav well? Whats the be

ya know what'de be cool? If the bounties were displayed on the main screen, at least during this time... maybe you could close it if you weren't interested or something, i don't care. But it seems pretty shoddy that a potentially game ending event hinges on you recognizing a "bounty on our head has been raised" message amidst the hundreds of messages you receive. Or even worse... no message at all as in the second case I described. If I lost a close game because the pirates attacked

From the Manual: "When the Timer expires, the red skull will start to flash indicating that there is a brief amount of time before the pirates launch. This gives each empire a last second opportunity to outbid their neighbors to determine the pirate's target." How long is a "brief amount of time?" And how is "a brief amound of time" determined? Several times the timer has gone off so I blitz to the bounty screen and sink a bunch of cash into an enemy, until his bounty i

(this would have been an edit, but i can't edit the post for some reason) "Hungrier I get for a Sins witha really well thought out interface. Will I be able to Mod these thigns into the game any time soon? " I guess as an RTSer what I'm looking for is an interface designed to reduce the number of clicks and keystrokes required to do anything. My solutions require 2 clicks at the most... the current solution seems stupidly click-happy by comparison. Which reduces the amou

If we want to make and uber interface we can also create keyboard commands to access these things too... where Ctrl-Tab selects and scrols through the 4 event Reort Dialogs, once selected you can use the up and down arrows to scroll through the list of reports, and enter to go to it. (which will clear all selections) This way you can use only the keyboard, or only the mouse, or any combination you like. Ctrl-Tab, mousewheel, enter. That sounds nice. Clean, efficient, simple... Says [link="https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/?forumid=402&aid=175419#1448529"]here [/link] that you can't do that right now. I didn't know that the game ignores Windows mouse settings... that just adds fuel to my flame.

The Report Dialogs are another area where mouse implementation feels primitive, and I dare say even Hackey. This feature is a very prominent, very power interface element... but it REQUIRES keyboard input to use. How many times have I had a glass of water in my hand and been mousing around my empire to see a report come up and go "oh, lets check it out." Go down there, fumble around with left click, right click, middle click... realize I can't get where I want to go without putting my

Well, a fourth option, and best IMO, would be a similar to the first... where double-click would intelligently grab all the units of that type in the group. This is how most modern RTSs handle it anyway. It used to be units of that type on screen, but somewhere around SupCom and maybe even DoW, it would intellegently grab all the units of that type within a certain tacticallly significant area. So if i had 9 light frigates on the left side of my screen, and 7 on the right

"The UI does an admirable of providing as much information as possible." The research cue is the only one that seems REALLY important. I hadn't tried hovering over the reserach button, that's good to know. But it's still a pain to reorder them... especially since you can see the cue order from the main screen, but NOT the research screen?!

I notice there are no action cue lists anywhere in the game. You can cue up all sorts of thigns and the interface will say, "yes, this item is cued." It will even tell you how many actions are cued in certain places. But there's no way to find out the order that they are cued. This seems like it could be problematic, but acceptable in most places... given how the interface works and the changes required to add this. The research screen is a different story though.

I'm getting kind of frustrated that I have to dig so deep to see the progress of everything that's going on. It makes things difficult to keep track of. I have some ideas for bringing progress bars closer to the main screen. They seem sort of common sense, don't add to the clutter, and seem like they'de be pretty simple to implement. It'de be cool if you could see the progress bars of a current upgrades/buildling/research on the main screen. For example: Click on a planet.
