What do you mean exactly with point 1?
He means that some planets will have uniqie resourses that are needed for certain ships/techs/abilities and that if you don't have a planet with that resourse then you cant get/use those ship/tech/ability. Also artifacts would fit in this category.

I noticed that for some abilities if you click on it a certain way it will keep using the ability when the cool down expires until it no longer is able to use it (i.e. out of antimatter), that may be the cause of this.

I was pretty sure you got the older versions when you purchase rebellion I will look it up. Edit: I didn't find anywhere where it said Trinity does or doesn't come with Rebellion, if it doesn't there will probably be some bundle deals you can get at or shortly after launch, or maybe even a pre-order deal where if you pre-order the game you get Trinity. (I don't see why you wouldn't get the earlier versions with rebellion)

Most if not all of the entrenchment and diplomacy features will be in rebellion. We dont yet know if you install rebellion with/over diplamacy or if it reqires a seprate install. If one player is playing rebellion and another player is playing entrenchment they can't play the same game, however the player with rebellion will also be able to play entrenchment and therefor play together. Mods will almost certainly not be compatible. System requirements should

Currently as Vasari an Assailant spam in combination with Overseers, Sentinels and Subverter "lockdown" ability with a focus on phase missile technology with 1-2 capital ships rickrolls the AI pretty quickly (even using relatively small navy with such setup can quite easily defend choke points until a larger navy is build). Create an account for Ironclad online and log in. The busiest time for you would probably be late night, there aren't as many players on in the European afternoon but you should still be able to find a few at that time.
What I'd like to see is the use of just five pre-created maps- one for competitive 1s, another for 2s, another for 3s etc.
This would get too repetitive quickly. One of the reasons I like random maps is because you can't do the same thing every time and expect it to work to your advantage, instead you need to scout come up with a workable strategy and execute it, if there was only one map per match size most players would end up doing the same thing ever

If an ability is channeled, you must channel it for as long as you use the ability. You can stop channeling buy giving the unit another order but then you stop using the ability. It is needed because that's the way they made the game, they wanted variety to give the units and races a different feel.

It adds your trade chains together. So if you have a chain of 4 and your only ally with trade ports has a chain of 3 you both have an effective chain of 7. (in a locked team game) Also I think what you're talking about is call a Trade Agreement.

Most likely your computer is temporary losing its connection to the internet, there are a few other reasons to get disconnected from ICO but i think this is the most common if you're the only one to get disconnected.
