I've got this problem too, but it was happening before the patch too...I get a dump error...don't know if that helps.

I like the idea of making it so Siege Frigates have low HP but normal shield which need to be lowered when firing. Seems like the best fix in my opinion.
I like the idea of having siege units come in after the main fleet has mopped the defenders up. That would also require the main fleet to stick around for a few minutes if the siege frigates are low-level and take a while, in case there's a counterattack. It seems the solution then would be, as everybody else said, to give them low HP/armor. If you think about it, a ship designed only to bombard a planet is going to be specialized, it's not going to be concerned about the armor that a
God I hope there's no implementation of Windows Live. I'll take a good, free, in-house browser and achievements system, thanks.
If you can manage without trade in Total War I'm impressed. The game is built around trade. And updates to Medieval 2 have much-improved AI that actually wants to stay allied with you.
If you think Medieval 2 was a "graphical upgrade to Rome" you didn't play it for very long. The battlefield strategy was entirely different as were a lot of empire-level features. Try going back to Rome after a few months with Medieval 2. It's hard to do. EDIT: Although I will agree with you that Company of Heroes is one of the best (if not the best) strategy games ever made, and that it really does require great tactics rather than resource management. Another one I would recom
Quad cores are different from Dual cores because of the architecture, so not many games support them right now. What I was told is that while the game won't use your second processor to the fullest, that second processor will still be handling background operations and streamlining the game. Also, a C2D has two fast cores, so even if it's just running one of them for the game it's still going to get good performance.
If they had made a demo before the product was ready it would be based on beta code. Bad idea. Company of Heroes Opposing Fronts didn't have a demo until well over a month after it released and it still sold well. The same can be said for Half-Life 2. The only games that really need demos released before the product are huge AAA titles that cost a lot to make. Ironclad's interest is in releasing the product, they're not concerned with making up for the 30 million dollar investment.
I don't play when I'm not plugged in because I value being able to play for more than half an hour at a time. Thanks!
That sounds great, thanks for answering!
How long DOES it take to bring a fleet in from, say, a neighboring planet? I like surprise attacks and would like them to actually benefit me significantly.
Okay, sounds great. Thanks!
Well it runs lots of games really well but there are those few that just do NOT like it, especially on Vista, and even DX9 games. I'm not asking whether the game will run, I'm wondering whether I will be able to push the graphics up significantly.
About how many different types of ships will Sins feature per team? I've heard the game compared to Supreme Commander, and one serious problem I had with that game was the over-specializaion of units. Are there so many units in Sins that the units are all specialized? I know there are different classes of ships (frigates, cap ships, and smaller ones as well), and I assume there are different types of units within these classes, but just how many different units are we going to be dealing with
I have to imagine that it does.
I have a laptop with relatively good specs. I have a C2D CPU, 2GB of RAM, and an 8600M GT with half a gig DDR2 on it. It can run my favorite games like Company of Heroes and Team Fortress 2 at almost the highest settings. Lots of games, however, don't like my video card at all. STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl in particular just does not like my computer, and of course the Crysis demo didn't run well at all either. So my question should be obvious: how should I expect Sins to run? I al
So is it in after all? The recommended specs list a Dual- or Quad-core system, so does that mean support was added? My C2D is the laptop variant of the 2.0GHz model, so if it's only using one of those processors it's going to be a severe bottleneck.
I thought I heard somewhere that you can put bounty on your enemies' economies for pirates to raid, so something like that.
If it were realistic, there would hardly ever be a nebula in the sky. There might be some dust, but even that's unlikely. All (or mostly) black would be boring though, and I think Homeworld 2 has the most perfectly beautiful skyboxes, and what I've seen in SoasE looks great as well. There isn't the wreckage everywhere but that wouldn't fit with the plot.
