"But is there any point to coming onto the board and telling those people who don't like the Pirates that they are too incompetent to play Sins, don't understand basic economics, and fail to grasp the great innovation that a random, neutral faction called Pirates adds to a serious stratey game?" Sure theres a point. In a nutshell and instead of just disagreeing with your whole pirate concept, it defines the "my way or the highway" livid arrogance some have combined with a highly unstabl

"Having played with the changes internally, I like it more than I thought I would so far (I was definitely in the camp to leave them alone)." Well thats some good news !!! "Siege frigates seem better balanced to me: they're expensive (in fleet points) so you can't spam them without suffering in other ship types, they're still deadly but they're not quite as godly." And that is what its all about for me- balance. Easy should be, well easy. Hard should be very di

"the issue lies probably with teh way in which people grow their empires, either too slowly or too quickly." Ok now we are getting somewhere. If this is the reason why you dont want any changes made Schod, then why dont you post a step by step on how not to grow their empire in a too fast or too slow way? That way we can try it ourselfs. Hey if it works I'll be the 1st to state I jumped the gun here on wanting a patch change when nothing is broken. But until then Im sick of being told i

"no, he's going on an extensive anti-me tyraid, just ignore him. obviously he doesnt get that people have things to do in their lives other than play video games for four or five hours a day straight." "but the masses is the MASSES man, who do you trust more, the other 6 billion people in the world, or yourself?" I trust myself, but I know who is also in charge, and it aint us pal... Try as u might, this isnt about you Schod... By a matter of course the masses are always

"I'm fine with the ranting and raving, so long as we dont act on it as a matter of pleasing the masses." Doesnt matter if the masses might be correct on this eh?... "I admit, I didnt want to confuse anyone by making the joke too lengthy." At my expense of course... How rude. Oh not about what you said, only the part about saying it was just a joke. "lets make sure your hypothesis is right before we move to act on it, otherwise you're just going to e

"Why do the anti-nerfers keep saying that players need to learn to beat the siege frigate spam, when there shouldn't be one in the FIRST PLACE? " Yep agreed... Thats why they have decided to fix it. And like Martha says, thats a good thing...

"I have yet to see a siege rush do any damage AT ALL against a fleet of equal SIZE" Me too. You know why? Because the $%@#*&^ siege rush kills any chance I have of ever getting my fleets to the same size! Yes I know you know more on how to play the game Schod, than I do, and that makes us not have the ability to talk on the same page. I cant come up to your level of play style yet, so in order for me to not think they need to make this easier for the new comers, your gonna have

"Heck, even the developers noticed siege frigs. were a problem, what more proof do you need?" Exactly... Its not knee-jerk when you were wrong in the first place. Kudos to those who would admit it and then fix it... Shame on those who cant or wont. But whats worse is not changing it just because of a stubborn few who have gotton used to it, think its all ok and must be a newcomer issue only (same argument for some in reverse). (ducks and runs out the room)... ;)

Yea the hangers work well till the caps show up... Then its downhill for me. Im too busy fighting off the group of bad guys while btw seem to multiply at each raid, and while NOT being able to expand the AI expands around me. Easy is still a bit too hard yet IMHO.... Glad they are gonna fix it soon.

And while Im thinking abt it, you "better" take care of the new-comers, because they are the ones who will make or break this game in sales figures which equals DUH income for its own maker. Making the game too hard for most of its new players is a really dumb move (in which they are planning to correct soon), and anyone who trys to talk them out of that is either only concerned abt themselfs and their wants, or doesnt see the whole picture here. Let me paint it for you ... I say lets make easy

"taking care of the community is different from taking care of the newcomers." Different how? The newcomers are not part of the community here? Is that your take here Schod? "I'm worried about the alacrity and reckless faith with which you are willing to change things blind and indescriminantly." "The Siege concern was brought up by Stardock's internal testing before the forums went crazy and the Pirate Frequency change was brought up internally before it as well."<br

"The AI will make you pay for turtling. If you sit on your hands for too long it will overwhelm you with sheer numbers." Ok fine- Just when am I supposed to expand then? I tried owning 3 planets and had them taken away from me in no time because I didnt have the defenses, yet in order to get those defenses up before moving on, some might consider it turling?!... :NOTSURE: Look I understand the AI is supposed to be a challenge or its no fun, but I have yet to get my mind

None of these issues are game killers. Just irratating. 1. Says "scouts have found a colonizable planet" when it hits a new system, but it happens to be an Asteroid. I cant drop a colony on an asteroid, correct? I assume this one is easy to fix. 2. At the very beginnig of the game (set on easy) in single mode, there are WAY too many frigates on the enemys side at first, already made, and just hanging around to ambush your colony or explorer ship as it passes thru the adjacent s

Hi, Im new at this so please bare with me and let me explain. 1st of all Im having much fun- but need some tactical advice. Ive been playing Sins for abt 4 hours now and have started over many times. The main reason is because I wasnt able to get two like planets colonized next to each other while fighting off pirates and doing research etc etc.... What I have noticed is like Total Annilation, and Supreme Commander, there are things that need to be done every

"and target and circuit city dont even know wtf im talking about when i entered sins in their search engines" Not unusual. Their buyers arnt gamers. In fact Im not even sure if they are humans. I say that because I have never accually seen one, and its impossible to contact one. Just try... These business only intitys are unapproachable and I highly suspect run by A.I. from another world... Either that, or they dont exist at all and are only used for making excuses/placing the blame, wh

well I think I found the answer... :d :d :d from the download faq..."Digital Download + Collector's will give you immediate access to the final game as a digital download, plus we will ship you a retail boxed copy as well (there's an additional shipping & handling fee with this option)." I assume when you preorder the collectors version (like i have) you are accually getting the "Download + Collector's" version stated above, even if it doesnt state this on the order form...
