Just remembered another minor bug: there's a missing or incorrect texture mapping on pirate ships, largely around the exhaust area. As a result when zoomed in they appear silvery and reflective rather than bilious green and evil.

In Beta 2, at least when playing the Advent and using the Explore Planet ability, the text message that appears when you discover anything indicates you've found efficient crystal miners (sorry, can't remember the specific wording) even if it's a relic or other upgrade. Minor suggestions: - The TEC Titan effect that creates a huge green expanding spherical blob is over the top visually. Adding a bit of transparency or toning it down a bit would make it
Have to add my name to the "who let an Advent Alvin Chipmunk on the Corvette bridge?" complainer list. I would hazard a guess that the root cause is that someone recorded those voices in a normal voice and then sped up the audio to raise the pitch, resulting in a squeaky effect that sounds childish. Ear grating - please fix.
Personally I find the better explosions and damage effects that this mod include add immeasurably to the gaming experience. Due to my own RL concerns I haven't purchased Trinity yet (sorry Brad!), but I'll definitely be doing so when this mod gets released for it.
I've been waiting for this! Thanks again for continuing to update this quality mod!
If nobody's told you today that you're awesome, I have just corrected that. Thanks, HominidSlayerUsingBallisticChemicallyPoweredWeaponry. I honestly think this mod itself is essential to the immersiveness of the game. :)
Time to make like a psycho in a maternity ward and bump this baby. Anyone test this yet for Entrenchment 1.04 compatibility? :)
I'm very pleased to see you guys keeping up with support of the already-released game through major patches like this, rather than just dumping it all into the new expansion pack and leaving the community that doesn't wish to follow along with more investment to their own devices. GG. -- Retro
I think Yarlen has shared everything he CAN at this point. If IronClad is working on a Sins 2 or full expansion, burying that announcement in a thread about their current microexpansion is prolly not the best way to do it. :) =============== Yarlen , quick question - can you slap up at least one screenie of the new work, or is at that stage yet. I realize the theme is diplomacy which makes it hard to actually show in-game content that'll be new until the v
The best mod would be something that Ironclad releases. Why? Because you know it would be compatible with everything. :) But, yeah, ManShooter's volumetric explosions, without Bailknight's enhancements if you don't appreciate being completely blinded by eye-candy but with if you don't mind, is a total win. You get to enjoy the vanilla Sins experience and don't have to figure out new rules of the game... but get to do so with huge splodeys.
eon, that comment wasn't intended for the OP, it was intended for those who answered "No". n3rull, please point out where your 'friend' registered on the developer's boards and answered the survey. If he didn't, your criticism is as inaccurate as your calling me a "nazi" is. Finally, just pointing out that my first post in this thread actually *did* answer the survey.
This thread is a cesspool. There's some civil and respectful replies here but just because one person had a difference of opinion and expressed it in a presumptive and somewhat rude way doesn't mean half the community should get to go apeshit. Jeebus.
Everyone who answered No to question #1, essentially admitting they are a pirate on the developer's official discussion board, please raise their hand. Okay. Thanks. Now you should know that you need have no fear of having zombies eat your brain, because you don't have one, and Charles Darwin is calling the rest of your body. Own Entrenchment, play only SP with ManShooter's explosions mod (but very little lately - too busy), will buy Diplomacy as soon as it is released.</
As a first-time visitor of this thread to see what the post count is all about, what I have to say on immediate gut reaction is this: I would have read this if the font weren't so incredibly overlarge. If it's quality, it doesn't need the emphasis. Apologies, but I'm not a fan of being shouted at to gain my attention. That, plus some of the "teaser" statements at the end of the OP that indicate the next chapter will make me pretty much
Thanks for the response, Blair. I want to clarify that it's the optics I was concerned with, not the company. There's still a huge percent of the gaming population that don't actively go to and search a game's forums, particularly those that might be interested in buying the game but haven't committed yet. It's one thing to use the forums to communicate latest status to the already-dedicated fanbase, but it's the website that potential new buyers are going to loo
If that's truly the case, Ironclad should have stepped up and replaced them at sinsofasolarempire.com. And Stardock should have let them know about the vacancy.
Yeah, I have to point out that IronClad is starting to fail at the incredible level of community involvement that made Sins such a polished initial release. Sorry, Brad, but the *crickets* are reflecting badly on the title. It's one thing to cater to the long-time fans, but you have to put a different face on to attract new players that will eventually drive the game forward, and that requires lots of visibility that doesn't seem to be occurring. I can't speak for everyone but when I
Volumetric really does add to the enjoyment of the game, Manshooter. You feel like you've accomplished something when a fleet of ships detonates nearly simultaneously.
beDamned if I won't leave work early today! :D
When patches are released, I'd consider it a bonus if any mods at all work, honestly. Modding changes the game, and Ironclad has enough work doing all the testing and tweaking to fix things in just the core game alone without worrying about how a bunch of uncontrolled changes to it that have been made by others will influence it. Considering how much IronClad supports the modding community with the number of parameter-based fixes to Entrenchment and the overall Forge structurin
Minor patch notes correction:
reduced the lateral weapon damage for Illuminators drastically, and equalized the frontal attack values with other attack frigs, to bring them in line with their counterparts.
Shame about the incompatibility (ya gotta hate when that happens!) but it's a good thing for me because although I was on the edge of my seat waiting for this, I really need to get to work early. :)
Correction: Hard does not come with a resource bonus. Unfair does. I kinda like it the way it is now. If I wanted more or less of a challenge, I'd start assigning group-teams to the AI.
Mymoto, the forum search function does appear to be borked, but they're right here on the first couple pages of these forums. Found 'em by reading the thread titles. Here's Mansh00ter's work: Dynamic flight: https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/341567 Volumetric explosions: https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/327224 And here's Bailknight's al
But of course, not everyone has Entrenchment...
At ten bucks a pop, they honestly SHOULD.
YOW. The new debris looks like it's gonna rock! Can't wait to grab the forthcoming release. Manshooter, expect to get karmageddoned for this! To confirm - are you going to release a standalone Volumetric version of Carnage as well, for those who might want to switch back to vanilla Sins? (I know how to disable Bailknight's if required, but maybe not Dynamic)
