There, I said it. 6 Players is the optimum player amount IMO and 1 star system allows fast battles. 30 Planets sound nice.

Novaburst, your post sounds like everything is good. That 7 hour games or extremely dragging enggames to finish out opponents is perfectly fine. A comment like 'This game should be about playing smart' is as nonsaying as it displaced. - Late game mopping up (destroying buildings, orbital bombardment) takes too much time. It has to be speed up. - Super weapons are too weak. You guys act like I want them to be the super uber weapons of total doom. Who on earth talked about makin
LRM spam is also a very valid option. You fail to see that the problem is not specifically just codiacs, but also light carriers and lrms. This is because the damage and health upgrades are just too little to stand up with the ship prototype researches. Thats why they should be increased, so players dont just rush for 1 special ship upgrade and spam it, but can slowly research many upgrades, and to see more mixed fleets.
I know the purpose of fleet upkeep is to prevent players from camping and not using big fleets. The thing is it created even more problems. In late game gameplay resource aquisition can get painfully slow because of having a big fleet. And it can prolong and already decided game, because orbital defenses dont suffer fleet upkeep. An already defeated player can still withstand a superior player by solely relying on gausses and hangars because he dont suffers the upkeep the atta
Another option is to lower fleet upkeep. Especially in late game it can severly hinder your progrees. In one game I had almost double the planets my opponent had, but he still managed to beat me back a long time because he solely uses orbital defenses. He had like 0 fleet upkeep, I had a huge fleet, which about equaled our resource incomes although he had almost have the amount of plaents i had.
This is simple mathmatics. If you build 5 labs and research the kodiaks or build 2 labs and research 4 upgrades, the kodiak variant is more cost effective. Look at it like this: the 4 upgrades give your frigates 15% more health and damage, where the codiacs give you a ship alternative that has 50% more health and damage. Higher fleet capacity is a bad option in my oppinion, I think the current values are already good. 25-30 supply for 1 codiak is way too high compared to the
There is a clear trend in multiplayer towards heavy cruiser spam. I see many people completely bypassing the lower upgrades, teching for heavy cruisers. Whether you do it normally with some civic upgrade or just rush it alone, it is very effective. Too effective. How? Because the lower military tier upgrades are too unnoticable. I mean 5% faster shield generation or 5% stronger lasers, almost never make a difference. Thats why it is so attractive to just bypass them and go for heavy cru
I have played about 10 games now, and I have never complete a single game in a regular fasion. I have yet to see the victory/defeat screen. Even if you have signifanct advantages over the enemy, it can still take you hours to finish him. People just dont have time for it and then tend to just quit. Suggestions: - High tier orbital bombardment upgrade have to be significantly stronger to speed up the planet aquisition in late game - Super weapon cooldown has to be lowered. I
