I'm not even sure why the look of WoM was kept when a lot of people panned the graphic style of it. That being said, I have pre-purchased the game and hope to see past the game's visual shortcomings so that I may enjoy the other things it has to offe

Oh, thank you! A well-written and comprehensive manual! I played a little of the beta and enjoyed it, but the underlying mechanics were largely hidden from me which hindered my ability to make correct strategic decisions. I'm going to enjoy the game much more now that I actually know what I'm doing. On a different note, the manual seems to render very slowly. I've had similarly sized manuals that render much more quickly. I also agree w

There's really no point in it now because they'd just be competing with themselves.

Probably due to Steam not wanting to give free bandwidth to people who didn't actually buy the game through them. Anyway, I just tried it, and Steam didn'
If you order it sooner, it'll be the last Beta (0.99) and it'll upgrade to the 1.0 version.
Ah, I guess there was no point in my uninstalling it last night. I just assumed it would be like any other game where the beta and gold version would be incompatible. I guess I should have known better. Oh well...
quoting post I've gotten a lot of questions from people over the past couple of years about why we are giving away Fallen Enchantress to the early adopters of War of Magic. They say people won't remember War of Magic (it was 2 years ago). They say it won't "buy" good will back from those who didn't like WOM. I pre-ordered War of Magic. I didn't like the game at release. I DO remember War of Magic.

Once the game is released I will do some more to set players up with a basic guide.
Videos can be helpful, but I'd really prefer something I can read at my leisure away from my computer -- even if it is a PDF document on my tablet. I guess what I'm really asking is are there definite plans for a gameplay manual to coincide with the game's release?

I can't remember -- and I'm thinking, "Why would I not take the bow every time?" Actually, you should take the money every time 300 Gildar can be used to rush buildings and can push an important city a dozen of turns ahead of where it would get by itself. Bu

Just assume it has something to do with gold plated rocket cars or something.
Ah, well, that sucks. My guess it has something to do with GameStop not wanting to lose a bunch of accounts to Steam.

This is looking really, really good. I'm glad Stardock didn't give up on the Elemental franchise but instead went with a reboot. It looks like future flame wars will go, "Stardock is a lousy developer! Elemental: War of Magic sucked!" "Who cares? They totally redeemed themselves with Elemental: Fallen Enchantress , one of the best 4X strategy games ever made!"

It seems more and more that WOM was just a "dry run" for the real game.
