Yep, ive played a random generated large map, me and 3 hard AI's free for all, and the strongest AI only had a fleet of 10-4 capital ships, and barely anything else. I was almost never attacked, 1 time an enemy flet of 15 frigates + 1cap sat in a neutral gravity well adjacent to my front line planets (right on the edge of the well, ready to jump to into my territory), and sat their for about 10 minutes while my whole fleet was destroying one of their planets. i sent a minor flee

The abilities cant be used until the cap ship in question is near death, like 1000-1500 health left. One ability could be a suicide crash into another cap ship or starbase/structure for massive damage. Or reactor gone critical dealing splash damge to all nearby ships/structures (friendly or enemy). Since we have to research diplomatic tech to offer mission to other factions its safe to assume the AI will too. So at the start of each game i dont expect any missions offered by anyone unless the proper research has been conducted, unless we are given a limited default/starter mission request. Im hoping the AI will not be weakened in any way when stripping their diplomatic abilities at the start and then forcing them to research like the human players do. AI resea
Ive been wondering the same thing. locking teams also makes diplomatic research useless. I wonder if locking teams will completely void all diplomatic research completely or if some will still have a purpose?
I recently updated both original sins and Entrenchment to 1.18 and 1.04 with no problems. But whenever i launch Impulse and it starts checking for updates a grey bar shows up at the bottom left hand corner saying "problem retrieving update data." When i manually check for updates this message will rarely go away. Is this a common message? or a serious problem? what should i do to fix it?
yes it slows down enemy ship movement.
it could be fleet capacity increases. move you mouse arrow to the top right hand corner over your metal income, a list will pop up saying how much your earning per sec on which planets/trade and further down in red you'll see the amount subtracted by your fleet upkeep. If you buy several fleet cap upgrades before your established enough econnomically then all your resource income could be reduced. 1)are a diplomatic type cruiser? If not what is their purpose (new war ship?). 2) are they targetable or do they have diplomatic immunity and can tamper/weaken the enemy? 3)If they cant be targetable than it would be interesting to try to counter their effects with your own Envoy or something, like fighting hostile culture with your own. Im just guessing, so i could be way off here.
seriously thank you. I couldnt figure out why impulse all of a sudden stopped working. I havent been on it until now to download the updates. For me i just went to windows update and downloaded the newest .net 3.5..... didnt need to change back to internet explore 7 or anything else. thanks again.
-Playing the TEC I discovered that late in my game i recently colonized a planet and move on to attack another, an enemy arrived right after and i hadnt built any tactical strucures yet, so i built hangars, turrets, etc. But even before the hangars were built (0-99%)the flak cannons on them were able to fire at enemy ships, and the effect wasnt just a graphical bug, the enemy ships took damage from the flak.
