I'm going to have to crop some of those charts to make them more printer friendly. For now I uploaded the whole set. Sorry Zyrxil, I've been kind of absent minded lately. =(
A nice resource for the community. Good job. The TGN domain name tripped me out there for a few seconds. I thought maybe it was one of Frogboys side activities.
Total Gaming Network is actually more of a Forum Network, and Game Server provider. So it's more of a FPS gaming hub. It's where I got the ECP established. Of course, I'm a strategy and 4x game fan... and I typically only do databases on games that I love. Which
hey just a suggestion, put the ship names above their info (I know the ships are highlighted at the bottom).but nice work . also you might wanna add bombers, fighters for each race. (they are different).
All suggestions are welcomed, and I guarantee that tommorow, I'l
You could see if you could get fan sites for other popular games to review your games. I liked the way Civfanatics follow GalCivII and that kept me interested. Or failing that get a moderator on the starforce support boards to post a link to where people can obtain a pirated copy of the game , seemed to work well last time <img id="ImageResize_Image_4" onload="ImageResizer.createOn(this);" src="http://images.stardock.com/smiles/Tongue.gif" align="absmiddle" b
Viral Advertising is a thousand times better than conventional advertising. Abuse the internet until you can't squeeze out any more pennies from the suckers who browse it. :)
You could always try to strike a deal with [link="http://www.totalgamingnetwork.com/"]Total Gaming Network[/link] to set up some podcasts, and even tournaments with the Total Gaming League. They've been expanding like a virus for the past few months, so I bet they're looking for more places to branch out to.
Ever wanted to know the exact statistics of a ship and it's weapons in Sins of a Solar Empire? Well, we at the [link="http://roe.totalgamingnetwork.com/wiki/index.php/Main_Page"]EncyClanPedia[/link] have just delved into the game's .entity files to scoop out the most important bits of information for all ships, to show to the users what numbers drive their ships. I haven't set up a main page for all of the information yet (It's kind of sloppy, but I literally just spent the last
Discover America?
Yes, Discovering America rhymes with Deplore.
Rofl, Dairuka Hard to get more obvious than that.. It's the biggest easter egg in Sins, though, and those of us who know aren't allowed to tell, or we get tortured to death (and back to life afterwards).
I pretend I'm dealing with children, since this is the internet
I won't out-right tell people, but I'm going to be a cheeser, and give some hints. Hint #1: Christopher Columbus was famous for this. Hint #2: It's the only way to get a phase jump speed boost. Hint #3: It rhymes with Deplore. Hint #4: I'm being vague for a reason, and even this'll probably be edited.
I really doubt they'll provide a tool to convert BIN to TXT, however, I am working on such a tool but it's slow progress (need to document formats for each entity type).
I look forward to it's release. Anyhow, I'm done all of the Frigates, and I'm working on finishing up Cruisers now. The statistics database is coming along quite nicely so far. Once I'm done, I'll go back and fix it up a little so it doesn't look
Well, as it is. I'm creating a database on the information provided to us from the GalaxyForge .entity's - I'll update any changes once they give us the tools required to read the .entity files, and as they patch the game. Let me give you an example of what I'm up to for instance. [link="http://roe.totalgamingnetwork.com/wiki/index.php/Sins_of_a_Solar_Empire/Light_Frigate"]WWW Light Frigate Statistics[/link] Ignore the ugly copy + paste format for now. I'm being lazy,
I realize that GalaxyForge provides a large reference source of .entity files that are in TXT format. The converter also seems to only convert TXT to BIN... Sadly, I really hate relying on others to keep me updated with references, and I worry about future patches and their changes to come. Is there anyway to read the current "BIN" version of the GameInfo .entity files, in my Sins of a Solar Empire folder? It shows up as encrypted - []A[]B[]C[]D[]E[] text, rather than showing m
They have similarities in some areas but they are not the same At least the 3 races of SINS have more diversity from the 3 factions of Supreme Commander You mean the 1 faction with 3 unit sets :/ LAWL I despise SC
I enjoyed it. I still play it, despite Sins taking up the majority of my time. I don't understand the need to compare,
I have a tendency to egg trash talkers on, until they're the ones who end up frustrated. Don't let people get to you. Especially people who suffer from a clear inability to process rational thought.
The simplest fix is to cap the maximum number of each ship type you're allowed to have, forcing players to have multiple ship types in their fleet. Another good fix is to take Rise of Nation's idea of "raising the cost of the same unit type" allowing people to diversify their fleets to save resources, while the rushers will be penalized by paying more for spamming the same unit.
You know your game is balanced, when the fan-base can't agree on what is overpowered or not.
I put my trading posts, and refineries in between the most heavily defended areas of my gravity wells, merely because they're a high priority target for pirates. It's much easier to lure them into kill-zones this way.
The first step in the right direction for a gaming genre, often stumbles when the fan-base trips over it's own words and desires. There is no perfect game. You're all fools for pretending it will ever exist.
