accuracy only influence the chance of ships to hit capital ships, fighters and bombers and is set as 100% to capital ships. The buff helps fighters and flaks attack bombers/fighters or helps in the case of a few select things in the game which reduce the accuracy of a fleet against capitals/fighters/bombers.
Thanks very much, that's the answer I wanted.

Is there a difference between *damage* vs armour types and *accuracy* vs armour types? Am I correct in assuming that the sustantive effect of the accuracy bonus is a net damage buff?

Quick question: Targeting Uplink - is that + to hit actually a straight damage buff or is there an actual accuracy factor in the game that I've missed?
Im thinking its something along the lines of the Seraphim from Supreme Commander:"According to the intro movie, an experimental mobile weapon's lab activated something (looked like a phase gate) 10,000 years ago. So the Vasari have been running for almost ten centuries.
Check maths. I'm not sure we'll ever see them, they exist almost purely as the plot justification for the Vasari race. The background fluff has no relevance to the game at all. <b

A simple concept to increase the utility of both really; Buff basic defences so that they do enough damage to be scary to basic frigate fleets (and massed to cap ships). Buff siege frigates so that for attacking structures they outrange basic turret defences and get a damage bonus against them. Thoughts?
4 siege frigates can neuter you early game Lets see, siege frigates do 2 dps to planets, so 4 of them would be 8 dps, assuming the planet has the minimum level of hp, 1500, that would take 1500/8 = over 3 minutes of bombing to take down. Two light frigates can kill all 4 of them before you lose the planet - Enemy loses 2000 credits, 280 metal, 240 crystal, you *spent* 500 credits and 90 metal, and those units are still alive, so you lost nothing.<b

I agree on all points with Schod. Suggestions for two of them: 1) Move siege frigates a place or two up the tech tree. The problem isn't their survivability, they've already had a nery and they don't need another one or they will be completely useless. The problem is that they can be rushed. We'll lets just add ten or so minutes to the time it takes to bring them out. That way you should be prepared for them (at least having jump detection and some kind of battle line) or
The races are definitivly not the same. read the manual and the first games and you think so. This is the first game EVER that ive seen that actually makes you micro differently depending on what race you are. Examples: Tec has very little shields and so any playing vs tech should focus fire during combats. Advent on the other hand has very much shields so playing vs them you should spread out fire. (This is because if you target one ship with 12 ships the damage reduction of the shield i

To my mind, Sins is a fantanstic achievement showing how you can take three 'sides' in a game, give them virtually the same base units (lets face it, only a couple of the cruisers and the Cap ships actually differ in abilities), and yet via tweaking the structure of the tech tree and economy basis get three sides that play entirely differently. Stuff like how the shield and culture techs are lower down the tree and go further for the Advent. Stuff like how the Vasari have Phase Gates.
