I haven't posted in a while since I couldn't remember my password (damn upper case, and the website wasn't sending me a forgotten password thing) ... but I just have to say ... shouldn't targeting be just done using a rock scissors paper type thing? so even if your rocks numerically have no chance (think not upgraded rocks) against an awesome scissors they should still attack because they're best suited for the job ... this is how I thought it worked but I guess not, I didn't know there were thi

To the person who said this game didn't deserve a 9.8 ..... the scores should reflect games in that category ... i can't seem to think of a better space rts game ... if you guys know one then i'd love to hear about it so I can go try it out.
it should be a 9.8 ... I mean the only problem he had with it was the game lasted too long? WTF kind of issue is that? I mean would you rather have a 12 hour game? This should have been a plus not a negative mark....and losing sleep I can understand ... I mean I was once up till 5 AM playing and I had a 9:30 quantum mechanics lecture .... and I played the game during lecture too .... this game will take over your life ...
Don't know how practical that would be for gameplay in sins ... I mean if you want that epic feeling when following a fleet why not just hold the right button and swivel around the fleet yourself .... i think I would lose orientation if the camera kept changing ...but maybe i'm not understanding your concept properly cuz I haven't played SW:EA
oh I just thought of something; you know that little window on the right when you put your cursor over a unit ... there should be a way to sticky that little window when your cursor is gone ... it might already be in the game and I just missed it ... but it would be really useful to be able to monitor a ship in that window while I go off to do some other stuff...
I've seen ships do that when they kill the ship I told them to kill already; they'll assign priorities to their pre-coded mind set. I wish they would continue attacking ships in the same fleet I selected initially ... so maybe if the AI could create "fleets" for its units and when I select a specific target in the fleet my units would continue attacking that fleet .... although it does look cool to see a couple of my ships break away from the main attack and chase down other ships ....
support the developers? that was the only reason I bought this game, I support developers who don't treat gamers like criminals. I also support developers who make games because they enjoy what they do, not so they can cash in on what ever movie just came out. This game was available on tons of torrents but I bought it just to make a point about good developers deserving our money, I also bought GalCiv1&2 for the same reasons. I mean it was amazing to install my game and not be asked to enter a
I jump in tons of grunts (those really cheap light units) ... after the grunts have engaged the enemy I jump in the missle frigates behind them .. I jump my capital ship in right after missile frigate and use the capital ship's special abilities right away and then start pounding away....I've had great success highlighting all my units and focusing all my ships on one enemy unit at a time ...
In terms of your other units gaining experience...I'm not asking for something like special abilities or anything ... but maybe like increased damage and it would be nice to see a "rank" of some kind next to that units name ... or some kind of graphical symbol next to the units info ... probably just Chevrons to symbolize rank
Yeah I agree with what you said; I would like to see "hero" units ... like maybe fighter or bomber units that gain experience and are able to better fight against other fighters/bombers ... it feels like dumb when I have a carrier thats been in my fleet since the start and its pilots have the exact same skills as a fresh carrier that just came off the line. Of course this could be an issue with online balancing ... but it would be nice to see in those huge maps when games go on for like 15+ hour
oh ok; I haven't been using the waaay zoomed out view...I just use it to quickly travel from point to point ... love the ''zoom to mouse'' feature as opposed to zoom to center of screen.
I guess I was just used to other RTS games; I had just finished Age of Empires 3 right before Sins. I hated the tutorial voice from Homeworld 2; so annoying, oh and is there a way to activate a "mini map"? that shows my fleet and enemy fleets in my observable areas? I hate scrolling over a random planet to find my guys fighting against an invasion force that I didn't know as there till that very moment.
So I just picked this up today; came home after working a 8 hour shift and loaded the game up. Ran the tutorial, hated the game and went to bed. Woke up a few hours ago and ran the game again, did the tutorial ... hated it still; it was kind of annoying that there was no voice to give you instructions and you had to read the text. Loaded a single player game up after that; on one of the small maps. Its now 4 hours later; I kicked the computers ass (or actually the pirates did it for me) and I'm
2.2 core 2 duo 8600M GT 512 MB 4 Gigs Ram Windows XP I run it at 1680X1050 with everything on high and no AA BTW This is on my laptop; this game was very well optimized I can't run any other game at 1680X1050 with graphics higher than medium.
LOL! I wanna try that; but too lazy to play a game just for that. I love the megalith. Take that pirates!
What do you mean broken? I finished the first two tutorials just fine, wheres the bug exactly?
