If that's the case where do I find it? The game crashes regularly, but it freezes my computer to the point I have to manually power it off.

I'd say anyone that doesn't give this 9+/10 is crazy
is there a way to generate a dump file? i don't even really know what that is... thanks for the help
I don't really get this complaint, as flak frigates are designed to destroy fighters/bombers. Doesn't it make sense that they would slaughter them?
No, it seems pretty random to me. Some end up the same, because it IS random.
I use them basically as the backbones of my fleets. I play TEC mainly, and carrier cruisers are a superb complement to my capital ships imo. Combine that with some close combat ships and you have a destructive force to be reckoned with. The thing that really makes them worth it, imo, is that the fighters have much faster speeds and ranges than other ships, so they can quickly attack and destroy targets, even those that are fleeing from your fleet.
yeah i already did that patch
Well I did a system restore to before I put on the newer nvidia driver, and it ran fine for about an hour, then froze. Tried again after restart. Froze. This is extremely annoying :(.
I haven't been able to even check to see if it leaves processes open because the game hasn't even run past the point of me being able to exit yet. Now it's even right when I turn my computer on... wait for everything to load. I close all my programs that aren't SSE, and then turn it on. Within 20-30 seconds it freezes and won't even let me alt-tab out or ctrl-alt-delete out. Then I manually restart and do the whole thing over again. It's extremely frustrating because it was working FINE
Still nothing worked. I have the hotfix patch for windows, and I have the latest drivers... yet still almost EVERY time I try to play the game.. less than a minute in it just freezes. I have to manually turn off the computer every time too. It really annoys me because I just played earlier today for 3 hours with not a single thing going wrong. I don't know why it seems that only randomly the game works perfectly. That's my ONLY complaint with what is otherwise an amazing game. <br/
The game always works perfectly the first time I turn it on in the morning. Yet after I close it after the hours of gameplay I put into it, if I try to open the game again it always freezes moments after I load a game. Restarting doesn't help. I guess I'll try to shut down the computer and wait a bit, then load the game again, but this seems like a very strange issue.
It worked at first but I'm still having problems again... flashing screen, etc.
I hope you're right cause I don't want some gigantic fleet showing up on my relatively undefended homeworld *scared*
On a huge map, when enemies travel between star systems... can they go to ANY planet in that star system? What I'm asking is.. does the choke point strategy work if there's many systems? Or can they just appear randomly at whatever planet they please.
I disagree.... while I'm not sure about how easy it is to fortify against real opponents, you can fairly easily use planetary defenses to repel most normal enemy's attacks... unless they're bringing their fleet in to legitimately take your planets. But it's easy to repel a simple raid with defenses alone.
why are people saying that the nerfing of siege ships is knee jerk? hasn't the game been in beta for over a year? can't the nerfing of siege ships not just be due to the retail game but suggestions from beta testers? i guess not apparently
i especially like the music
im wondering this too also, does anyone have any suggestions as to how to succeed economically? I consistently find myself failing massively in that department as i try to gear up militarily.
Let's do an unscientific poll: Who here would like to see a game setup option of: A) Toggle Pirates off on (easy to understand) B) Slider setting Pirate strength (more flexible but more complicated) C) Keep it as it is.
I say A as soon as possible, B for later I personally think that turning them off as a newbie (i.e., myself) would help one to learn the game
how does one open that gameplay.constants file in order to modify it? it asks to select a program to view it with and i dont want to screw it up by selecting the wrong program there is a patch that turns pirates on and off though, right?
