Is there a way to download the mod with just the planetary changes and whatnot? I'm not a huge fan of adding new races and stuff but I do like the planetary additions. With the new version of Sins and Entrenchment that would make it much easier to layer mods if you had them seperate or at least had the planetary stuff seperate.

I remember way back when SimCity 4 was still kinda big. There were a lot of talks on their forums about issues regarding performance lategame on big cities. It kinda reminds me of this problem now that I think about it. Their explanation was that the game was heavily reliant on the front side bus of the processor and how it was all problems with memory transfer speeds. Not so much in the vein of addressing, and this also was a time when having a front side bus of 400 was super quick, but it j
To be honest I really like the method SD uses to beta its games. Paying customers have a voice before the game is offical, which means more people are happy, which means more money for SD. [e digicons]:D[/e]
Where can I find the minidump file? I accidently clicked the "OK" button before I looked up where thefile was when the error message appeared.
I had repeated crashes with Sins last night, one of those produced a minidump file. Only problem is I dont know where it went. Also, is there a place I can submit the bug files or do I just copy paste their contents from notepad here?
Can you guys post up some shots of this mod in action? I'm really curious to see whats in there so far :D
I would love to see a rebalance of the upgrade costs on the starbases. Personally I'm a little weirded out by the idea that adding a huge array of weapons and firing equipment (tier 1 gun upgrade) costs just as much as say, opening up the docking bays for trade ships (tier 1 trade upgrade)
Gotchya, thanks for the quick reply. Good luck devs! :D
I noticed the server crash problem. Is this why Impulse wont let me install Entrenchment right now? It keeps stating that Impulse needs to be updated/restarted. Either way, Hope you guys have good luck with getting the servers running again, terrible that it happened on Christmas!
I was wrong about Hyperion's gates btw, Aincent Gifts is the one that works properly. I'll start by poking around here.
Eh...nevermind I think I'm just getting confused now. Argh :P I need point to point movement between stars, but the ability to move only between those points. Heres the layout Im going for... Star A Star B Star B Star C So C cant get directly to A without going through B first. That kinda thing. I had two ideas to work this. Either having stars only allowing you to go to other stars in a certain order. Or having wormholes do the job and not lin
Ok, I can confirm that Hyperion's Gates works for what I'm going for (I think), but I cant open any of the premade maps in Galaxy Forge. Any idea why not?
Can you recommend a premade map that does this allready?
I am going for some really particular links between node points on a map I am working on. To keep things nice and simple I would love to be able to have different sections of my map on different stars. I do not want to allow for star to star travel however since it does not allow me to limit which star goes to which star (star A goes to all other stars by default, I want star A to only go to star B and not star C) Alternatively I wouldn't mind disabling star to star travel if I could link
Has anyone tried wld1.2 with the 1.09 beta? I'm curious if it works or not.
Nifty! Are you going to do anything with the ship voices at any point? Would be kinda nice to have some of the more lackluster voices redone.
Nevermind, problem came back. Still stuttering sound. Argh this is infuriating. edit: After a reboot the problem has stopped. Maybe something is getting mucked up in memory?
Current card is Nvidia 8800 320MB Drivers are up to date as of yesterday, so I don't think its either of those offhand. I'll try Fraps today, that or unbinding the print screen button and then doing the oldskool method of hitting print screen and the pasting the image into mspaint.
I noticed that you ask for screenshots of the error occuring. This is a tricky one as hitting print screen throws the text up on the screen about where it was saved. This removes the problem temporarily. I'll try to come up with another method of screenshotting today.
During gameplay I am bumping into a game breaking problem of the game flickering like crazy with horizontal bars across the screen. When certian elements of the UI appear (info windows, text from messages like CPU taunts and such) the problem disapears. Once the effect in the UI has stopped (fade out on text or mouseover something else) the problem returns. Any ideas?
While doing some stuff with swapping out the ingame music for a custom soundtrack, I noticed that there are some things missing in the default loadouts of the origonal soundtrack. For example, there are no "TEC Battle" "TEC Trouble" and "TEC Sad"songs. Will the game recognize aditional music if I add those in? What if I add numbers behind them such as "TEC Battle 1" Any ideas folks?
I found a possible fix. It seems that my microphone was looping through my speakers so anything it picked up blew out them. After muting my mic in the PLAYBACK (note: not RECORDING) area of my volume controls it fixed the problem. Dont know how that got switched but there ya go :D
From when I start up (excluding the intro videos) the game sound stutters horribly. I have been unable to find where and why it is doing this offhand. All sound, music and effects are stuttering. I agree, we need moar cowbell!
Back in ye olden days of starcraft, They had different gametypes that really changed how things worked. One of my favorites was "Team Free For All" It took teamplay to a whole new level with the ability for two or more players to literally share units so you had two people controlling what origonally was one team. The maximum supply count was doubled as well, to make room for the aditionally needed units. It was a great gametype that added a new level of depth to the game. Would this be a
