On a less subjective level, one of the things I dislike about many of the voice clips is that they're too much like an individual's response. What I mean is that you click on a ship and it says something like, (not direct quotes) "What can I do for you?", or "My robots are ready", or "Gotta job for me?" These responses make the ship feel like just a single guy, much like a unit in a game like Warcraft, instead of like a huge ship crewed by hundreds if not t
Rhedd: no announcement on the main page. What do the readme notes say??-- Retro
I only noticed because I happened to be on Stardock Central, and it told me I needed to update to v1.04...something, so I did. The game, however, still says v1.04, I don't see any new release notes, and checking SC, I see a v1.04.022 with a release date of 04/10, so my guess is that yesterday SC just mistakenly thought I needed to update, when there wasn't really anything new. Sorry fo
i dislike the in game editor for one reason...your home planet (and neighoring asteroid) are always 100 thousand trillion miles away from the rest of the map and i find this irritatingly irritating. it takes like...5 min for your ships to traverse this void and by the time culture connects the games over...even on a large map. no settings i change have ever changed this

Five minutes? Try 50.
Well, all I've got to say is, ????????? I use the in-game Map D
Oh, really? It's so cool that you are hier to enlighten us! I guess you can understand the difference between an explosion and PERMANENT fire (like in this game)? And as you are a wise guy, you also know, that atmosphere comes to end quite fast when there is a hole in a ship happens?
So... You registered just to be a jackass? Have a cookie. On-topic, I seem to have downloaded that 1.041 hotfix yesterday. Did I miss the official announcement?
The camera follows selected ships. It does not follow unselected ships. I just click on empty space to deselect everything, and the camera stops moving. You can use fleets to reselect ships, or just do what I do and put a big dragging box over everything when you want to reselect them.
It certainly does follow unselected ships. I do that all the time. Also, hitting ESC, as previously suggested, does nothing. What game are you guys playing, anyway? ^_^<br

I actually loathe all of the voices in the game, but I dislike the Advent a bit less than the others. Over-dramatic, cute, character-filled one-liners are good in a game like Warcraft, but every time I play Sins, I find myself missing the calm, professional, realistic voices of Homeworld. All games have a mood, and the voice acting is what helps set that mood, and the mood set by Sin's voices is just... campy. I say the Advent are my favorite, because the

A: There's both an in-game and out-of-game editor in which you can make your own maps in about twice no time. Seriously, people, at least TRY the in-game map editor! B: That site is hardly the only place to get Sins maps. C: I see nothing on that site about demanding money from me before I can download.

Not those lame, emo, S&M fetish, Clive-Barker-ripoff Dark Eldar, either. I mean the pretty, graceful ones with the colorful powered armor! (I love Eldar.)

I think the Advent have the best voices in the game. (That's not really saying much, but there ya go.) I don't think that cybernetically enhanced, psionic starship captains need to be grizzled old men with a voice born of decades of smoking and bad attitude. I think it's funny how many young men who play this game hate the Advent voices but like perfectly horrible voices like that of the Marza Dreadnought.

Additional note, since I can't edit my post: Stealing is stealing and piracy is stealing and stealing is wrong. That, however, is a totally different subject. What's being discussed here is copy protection, and that does not stop stealing. Publishers count every pirated copy of a game as a lost sale. The ugly truth, however, is that the vast majority of those pirates would never have bought the game, and the worst-case scenario is that the piracy

I've always seen that. Nothing new, and not really a bug. Freshly launched strikecraft follow their mothership, but if you give them orders, they won't return to following after their orders are complete. To get them to follow again, just dock and relaunch the squadrons.
However, when I did the same thing again I had no results at all from the Resurrection ability, despite scuttling another capital in that same well.
I tried to test how this ability worked, one time, myself, and got similarly inconsistent results. I wonder if there's something we're missing, or if it's just a little buggy.
I LOVE all the races' voices. The vasari is my favorite, reptilian and just the right amount of energy. The Advent is just plain comic relief, and the TEC voices are fitting and 'cool'.
Maybe if I read this post while looking at it upside down, it'll make more sense to me. Surfer-boy cruiser captains and B-movie ninja scout ship pilots are "cool", while the absolutely serious (but very young, in some cases) Advent girls are "comic relief"? I suppose if I were 13,

Sometimes you'll get a random map with two planets overlapping. The grav wells are still separate, and connected by a very short phase lane. I had one in my last game that was a lot of fun. An asteroid field was a half-second jump from the main chokepoint. Lots of fun jumping back and forth.

You know, this whole people traveling around in space in things called "spaceships" is SO ripped off from the old television series, UFO, which, as we all know, totally invented that entire concept. ^_^

Don't tease. Heatman, you know the way when you look at a really shiny metal object on a really sunny day, the way when the sun hits it, it'll have this haze of blinding light coming off of it? Or on a dark night, when you look at the streetlights, and they have this big glow around them? That's bloom, and that's what it does in the game.
