There is a quest journal! That was the big discovery today, and it took some digging around to find it :) Quests seem like personal things to me, so I looked for quest log of some sort in the unit info window. It seems quests are global though, any unit can finish a quest another champion started? The placement of the quest journal in the kingdom info window suggests this is also how it's meant to be later on too. If that's so then it's logical but it would help with something t

I agree that it's hard to know what can be built where. I've researched techs that allow me to build a new building but not been able to build it, without knowing why. I think the key here is when info will appear on technologies in the research window. If you see the building in a list of what will be unlocked when something is researched you can for example mouseover to get the info card for that building, which should have succint info on what goes where and why. If something can only be b

Could work, only risk is confusion as to what it is you are selecting all of if ctrl+a is used. However, it should work well since you have selected a town and there is nothing else you can select several instances of in that case than units. For example you can't select more than one town or select any units outside of that town once it's been selected. There could also be a small button for selecting all units in the STationed Units window.

Considering the basic principles of supply and demand I'm not surprised there are Inns a century after a cataclysm, since everyone always wants a good solid drink even when the world is on the brink of oblivion :)
With regards to balancing character economies versus building economies, would it be reasonable to let characters with production abilities (Inventors, Loremasters, and Merchants) improve their "skill" on levelup in lieu of standard level-up options? For example: a merchant levels, I can add a point to a stat, or improve my merchant ability by one "rank".
This is exactly what I was hoping for actually, I thought that if I

Hello! Just started playing beta 2 a few days ago and have a few minor interface and usability issues that I thought worth mentioning and here's the first I have time to write down :) It concerns moving out units from a city. Small niggles here but being quite environmentally damaged from studying and working with interaction design they stand out to me :) If one or more units have just been moved out of the city, make them selected</stron

Saving clicks is a good thing and I like the idea of that button, but I think that instead of directly equipping the item I would want to compare it to what the hero currently has first. So, perhaps make a button just where you suggest in your sketch but make it lead to the character info screen instead, with the correct tab for the item shown? You would still have to click more to equip it but it's not certain you want to equip every item you find immediately, and this would make a convenien
Don't have the same problem in Elemental, but I have noticed some other issues, for example, the default speed is really low and for some reason when I try to scroll right, I get right+down diagonal scrolling. Not sure If I'm the only one who experiences that.
I get this too.

I'm also part of the growing group who bought the game because of Tom's both informative and entertaining writeups on his trials and tribulations in galciv 2. Thank you for the great read! I really hope more game journalists start writing about their play sessions of games like this, I have yet to encounter any other form of information written about a game that gives a better picture of what it's like to actually play it.
By the way, how does everybody play the game with this bug?
One word: Gratefully =) As a newbie I am thankful for this advantage so I can survive and learn the game more easily. Then once it's fixed in a later patch I'll hopefully have learned the basics well enough to cope with the real shipdesign limitations I think it would be something worth including as an option for lower difficulties even if

For people who are used to RTS games in multiplayer even Fast setting is probably too slow. For us who are used to turn based 4X games however, Normal speed is more than enough =)
