SCFA

Basically, I know my computer is powerful enough to run the game, having run Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance smoothly (SCFA, get the name?) which is a rather big feaat. Now, the questions are as follows. 1:I have 32 bit Vista. What should I get for it and how effective are they? 2:I have an Nvidia card, I heard it causes some issues at max settings, but I heard that back in Febuary and I know that Ironclad and StarDock are good companies. <

like in SCFA there's an exploit on one of the main units. It gets a lv.2 Regen which is fairly cheap, except instead of giving it a 10% HP bonus then like, an extra 100 regen or something, it heals 10% of its HP (about 1000) every 5 SECONDS. At that stage of the game it is completely unreasonable to believe that you can counter something like that. A micro'd scout as an exploit? lulz

I know you don't like this type of thing, but I heard that one of the Vasari units re-directs all attacks to it? This could lead to major over-kill of it, giving you a noticeable advantage.

Chances are, if you're firing at the Capital, you want an easy way to insta-gib it. And your units AREN'T there.

I've played around 40 1v1s [B]with a friend[/B] equal in playing ability and this is the only balance related thread I can agree with. Most whine posts around here seem to be made by players playing FFA vs the AI on slow and then coming into MP wondering why they're getting their asses kicked. You didn't lose 3 doomsday devices... you lost 3 Vasari SuperWeapons, huge difference.

To the person who said build 3 Kostura cannons. He might stop at 1 Novalith when he sees you spamming those. Then you attack when you have 3 and all of a sudden you're facing a frikkin huge armada.

The Novalith cannon is good for raping capital planets, and so then dramatically lowering allegence

Kenquinn... Any connection to SC or SC:FA? Also, I don't think there is any other way to affect it.

The Novalith cannon means you can focus all your eco onto powerful ships, the cannon'll take care of the population wiping.

imagine getting +12% damage bonus... 30 times...

In a 5v5 you get a capital ship, grab tons of planets, spam frigates, (as TEC) spam trade centers and use the resources to get a ton of other things.

If this game doesn't have a group of REAL pro gamers yet, then balance is not an option to be discussed.

Turtle AI still attacks, stands to reason they want to put you in your place while they pump eco. What faction are you? Makes a world - or in this game, possibly 100 worlds - of difference.

That's because you learned to play Advent. Vasari are COMPLETELY different.

10% first upgrade? I dunno, the way I see it unless it costs as much as a Cap ship, any Upgrade that will let me pwn shields is a good upgrade.

Would these "Big Problems" Be not dealing out 33% of damage taken, dragging attacks to the strong guy, re-enforcing shields ect? And I meant cruisers as because Advent have the strongest fighters/bombers.

Don't forget one of their Cap Ships (Vasari) has a Phase ability. Phase Missiles mixed with Phasing out the dude that makes attackers take 33% damage and you can own.

I believe one of the Vasari Cruisers brings it up from a 35% chance to penetrate to a 55% chance?

If he has so many Cap Ships, I think you can afford something like that >_>

So basically use Vasari's phase gates over a huge area?
