This is why my major fleets always have one of each cap ship at leasts for the diversity of abilities. Also use the ion cannon on the colony cap liberaly. Its not a top tier ability, doesnt take much antimatter per shot and can completely shut down a ship for a bit. Not that long but long enough to make a difference. Use it on caps that have the ability to heal or help the rest of the fleet. If there is a lot of overseers though it might be more efficient to kill them first. Dont be afraid to

and they use it drasticly well. While playing DS I kept wondering why my income hit the floor while being attacked by pirates....then I captured some with the advent and looked at thier abilities....devioise...

on large maps theres just no replacing auto-explor. Besides independent factions and pirates DO attack envoy ships. I will agree that once you fine the heart of an enemy empire the envoy ship is usfull for getting through thier whole teritory (they have to be to set up embasies) but scouts are still number one on general exploration

im not saying its not selectable im saying its not attackable. Sory for any confusion there. I dont think a decrease in diplomatic status would stop people from abusing it. Having a set rate allows it to be used in single and multi. The selling player has to agree to the price too

especialy if you have a new ship type that has the ability and make only one or two per pirate fleet (more at higher pirate level) and give it a long cooldown. Also it cant steal cap ships. Your so worried about them, kill them before they can take your ships. otherwise they would only be dangourouse if left unchecked for a long battle with the pirates

I like the concept. Maby you keep them for a set amount of time and then you have to chooes whether to pay the fee for more time which increases as you reup multiple times.

I really dont want to hurt any designers feelings since Ive loved your ship and station designs up till now and it didnt bother me so much at first since I was just exited to start the beta, but im not that impressed with the envoy ship designs... 1. I agree with the pulse gun idea. Waves are already worth upgrading because they are on the cruiser, but having pulse on fighters would make it more atractive to upgrade. Curently none of the cap ships use pulse so its only if you want to spam frigates or make your SB a bit better that you get the upgrade. Also it would eliminate the vasari advantage of having fighter and bomber damage improvment in the same tech (Tec and advent have to purchase different wepon techs to improve one or the othe

I think the og poster had one thing wrong. Its a great Idea I think (especialy the pirate part!) but id say in the case of a bought planet you would have to have some sort of LONG grace period where the planet couldnt be targeted by either faction involved in the trasaction after its been done. Now a third party could certainly do whatever they wanted to planet. unfortunatly just like all the other bums around here I dont have any modding skills and am too busy and poor to develop any. You guys do a phenomonal job on DS. As I understand from other mods modelers and texturers are hard jobs to fill. I remember 7 deadly sins have some unique pirate cap ships for thier playable pirate race, and a couple wernt bad. Maby you could ask him to use a couple of those. Or maby starclad will take this sugestion and run with it. Either way keep up the good work w

yes it is! I love DS. Very good mod. But I want to see them bring in thier own desingns for pirate cap ships maby based off old ships from other races. At least pirate them up a little so they match the other ships in spikyness and such

I like it! Perhaps not redirecting them but bribing them to go back to thier base. On the pirates level they would probably agree to that since they get paid the bounty they wanted without risking thier own ships.

they are still working on a ton of additions and will add some they havnt even thought of at this point. Entrenchment was the same way early on if you remember. Make a sugestio, It just might go in the expansion

hmm. ill have to use the advent capture ability to take another look at thier abilities. I played a couple games now where I fed them till they got to extreem and I didnt notice them being much harder. Maby more of them but not by much. Was kinda hoping to see a pirate cap ship leading the charge with some insane abilities tailor made to piss me off...
