I could imagine a campaign ending peacefully if we're dealing with the same race, but when it's any of the three races against any other race, I don't really see a peaceful way out when you read the manual and watch the intro. Most people that warez stuff can't afford it or be assed to buy them anyway, so it's not like companies are losing something due to piracy.
I think the problem here to some is that every time you play you need to rebuild your economy, military and the works. Could be nice to start out with pre-built bases for a change. Think of a scenario: "We have established a foothold in the TEC territory, but they are planning a counter-attack. Purge them in the Unity's name!" I got an nvidia 7650GS with Vista Home Premium 32 bit and this did absolutely nothing for me. In early game I'm still getting flashing HUDs, a bit later to the game my driver starts shutting down and restarting every now and then, and when I've explored a single solar system and built enough units the game freezes for good and the driver keeps shutting down and restarting continously.
It seems like the entire 7-series nVidia cards have the same problem on Vista. If anybody knows a driver for the 7-series cards for Vista that works, please speak up... I'm dying here. I'm addicted but can't play long enough to conquer a single system.
Getting this same thing with my 7650GS. Screen goes black and the driver has to reboot. After playing for a while it gets really bad and prevents me from playing alltogether; the driver keeps shutting down and restarting continously without end. And yes I installed the Vista patch thingy. Didn't help one bit.
