mindseye if you are using the older 1.0 txtbingui with the current convertdata then there are files that will not convert. my theory is that the devs re-use the bin values that are changed for different lines with EACH VERSION update, so for the conversions to/from txt & bin you NEED to use the correct version of the convertdata, also my txtbin gui looks at the path to the files to determine which convertdata to use eg if entrenchment 1.01is in the path it uses the convertdata_entre

mdrocks, with the mod UPDATER 1.1 I have updated the 7ds 2.5 alpha from the mods-entrenchment 1.02 folder to the mods-entrenchment v1.03 AND played it with showerrors on and had mostly string errors. the utilities in my unility pack need the convertdata*.exe's, the OCX, the s*.txt, the d*.txt and the targetsinsver.txt files in the same folder mindseye I suggest the following path structure for your reference files sins reference\ &nbsp

beemer127, the released files have been converted to bin, and you just NEED to use the correct convertdata_originalsins.exe version to convert all the files back to TXT format for tweaking. from what I remember I think that the 1.15 convertdata will convert soa_2_0.03c to txt harpo

gungrave89, assuming you have sins 1.17/entrenchment 1.03, the galaxy forge maps NEED to be placed here for xp C:\Documents and Settings\'user name'\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\GalaxyForge or here for vista/windows 7 C:\Users\'user name'\AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\GalaxyForge. NOTE the first two folders after the 'user name' are hidden , so to see them you must first click on 'tool

the simplest way to keep your sins 1.05 is to COPY your entire sins program folder to another folder with a changed/different name eg sins of a solar empire 1.05, create a desktop link to the 1.05 sins exe then update sins & entrenchment to current with impulse. th only problem is that sins 1.05 & 1.17/entrenchment1.03 have differences in the user.settings file and each WILL overwrite the others settings so you HAVE to re-setup your prefered settings each time you swap b

first make a COPY of the sins/entrenchment folders in another path possibly on another drive, then download, extract & run either my sins txtbin gui or my modding utilities v1.1 the files in the forge tools are from 2 versions ago, and with my utilities you can get a copy of the current files. if you are modding entrenchment you onl

I have all of my modding/mapping utilities latest versions with the convertdata's and all other support files in the 1.1 archive and will be updating with EACH patch that

sounds like the level6 akkan ability CeaseFire as it does cause all units in its radius to cease firing and not attack, personally I turn off autocast in ceasefire as it only irritates me. harpo

I have created a mods updater for sins AND entrenchment, but it ONLY will work with the versioned mods folders versions of sins and entrenchment ie sins 1.15,1.16 to 1.17 AND entrenchment 1.01,1.02 to 1.03. I suggest getting my mods utilities pack from this thread . I wrote it because of the SAME problem in that I like the mods I have installed and wanted to keep playing them with the latest pat

I had added the phase scouts mod to my private starbases mod, and it is easy to do but it is easiest if you have the reference files for sins 1.04 to compare to the modded files and paste the changes into the entrenchment files of the same name, and then create a new entity.manifest because of the changed ability/research items harpo
