The quoted article in the OP got me to reading up on Titan Quest when it came out, partly because I was thinking of getting Soulstorm. Never been a fan of Diablo games, not that the top down perspective wouldn't work, necessarily, just the brain dead button mashing doesn't work for me. From the sounds of it, what strategy Diablo had was mostly lost to Titan Quest. Furthermore you needed at least a decent gaming rig to power it. All things considered, maybe adding hard core copy protection to

Okay, alright... I just have to ask... what games target the Chinese market?
And I won't even get into the hours lost in WoW.
Yes lets all sweep that under the carpet and just forget it EVER happened... xD Back on topic... whenever I read rants about piracy the thought always crosses my mind "adapt or die." Blizzard adapted. So, in my opinion, has Sins. All my best it's a great game you've made. Happy to buy the download so you get every penny.
Yeah, I honestly wouldn't mind an explanation as to why it is the way it is either. If one were only changing what the graphics look like on your own client, why does Sins care when it comes to playing with others online?
Say for example you are playing an FPS, and you add a little graphics mod that makes the walls invisible, so you can see your opponent coming around the corner before he does, but he can't see you. That gives you an advantage. Offhand I can't r
"The only thing a developer is accomplishing by making yet another game involving the genocide of wilderness creatures is making me laugh."
Yeah me to. The article had the quality of being funny enough to just barely make up for it's overall annoying tone.

If you could make a better system for game replays that would be great. Finding the replay folder seems rather difficult and counter-intuitive, and then having a way to delete the file from in-game would be nice. Also, I'd put all replays in the same area, rather than single player replays in one section and multi-player replays in another. And are these forums really hard up for disk space or something? Why not have a replays area on these forums?

Yep, pirates are still cool and add a nice strategic element fairly unique to this game--at least I haven't seen anything comparable in other RTSs. Pirates definately aren't a game breaker, maybe they are even a game MAKER. Use them to your advantage... be the perpetrator, not the victim. Maybe, though, after you've destroyed their base we could stop with the little raids... I think that would be a sensible change.

Yeah, I say just download it... that's what I did... who needs another box? Easy as pie if you are already connected with Paypal. Besides, I'd say give all your money to Stardock and Ironclad because they deserve it, rather than giving a cut to Bestbuy or Gamestop or whatever.

I find Sins pretty similar in structure to other RTS's, actually. It was all pretty familiar when I started up my first game. The difference is it moves more slowly, and the AI is independent enough to manage several battles at once. So it's kinda like you are playing an ordinary RTS but on several different maps all at once, which I think is great and hope more games follow this lead. However, I do find this game more punishing if you make a wrong strategic decision (like expanding your ec

Sins has a great core gameplay mechanic, great UI, and pretty good strategic depth (though admittedly familiar if you've played a few RTSs)-- but more story, video cuts, and that sort of thing would be nice. It's not like we wouldn't have the time to opt to watch a 1 minute video about a cool ancient artifact that was just dug up, or something. I figure Sins was something of a risky venture since it involves a style of RTS not seen before so some sacrifices had to be made-- and the cho

Not that I've faced your exact problem, but I deal with pirates with fighters and bombers. They do a pretty good job of leading pirate fleets wherever you want them to go, which is naturally right in the middle of a turret farm.

It's probably better and more fun if you edit your own playlist to your liking, however I'd thought I'd share what has worked for me in integrating Homeworld tracks into the game. The goal here is to recreate HW's ambience, while still leaving some of Sins musical character intact. Above posts have links where you can download Homeworld music, and post #2 has a link to the tools you will need (mainly the OGG converter) to make this happen. Here's the general strategy: songs are organi

So anyway, I remember fondly the music from Homeworld portraying the sense of expansiveness, isolation, and foreboding of space, so I downloaded the Homeworld music files from here: http://www.atomicgamer.com/directory.php?id=2457 , which the Relic Forums say is legal and legit, in order to give that same lonely spacey feel to Sins. I'm wondering if there is a way to replace the Sins music with these MP3 files. I know the general topic of changing the music has come up in other threads
