Martyr? you the guy that's arguing about how you have to be incompetent to drop below 65% allegiance? You're aware that solar systems can be up to 100 planets large? Do you have a bit of an idea how far away from your capital some of the outlying planets would be? tack on an extra few jumps for planets in another solar system, and you start getting 35% allegiance all over the place. That means you're gaining 8.75% of the resources you're actually making. It has zero to do with in
FFS this is a GAME. We just want stuff that LOOKS cool, who cares if it's realistic or not?! Some of the arguments in this thread are ridiculous!I’m all for making things look less static in battles, so subtle camera movement would be a good idea worth considering but make it an adjustable setting, so people who don’t like it don’t have to use it.I have noticed that based on weapons range, ship position and current target, ships DO move to position themselves appropriately in relation to
I'd like to see another faction, multiple victory conditions, and refinement of the political system.
Agreed (again). Also, a little more uniqueness between race's ships. As it is its pretty much the same choices between races, just with some different abilities. Lol predictable (and things like fighter cruisers are practically just skinned different lol).
Please listen to him. It has already been established and agreed by most people on this thread that are at least a few problems with the current system. You may personally think it's fine, but there should at least be other options for players who think it's too limiting. The game allows for maps of infinate size, but does not give sufficient options to make those late game huge maps fun.
No... What we've determined is that a lot of people are incompetent and want a gam

Yeah, HUMAN Vasari players, sorry. Thought it was implied. I can play 9 hard agressive comps and I still know its a foregone conclusion, its a conclusion that might TAKE a while, but its forgone anyway. (My last game was 2vs2vs2vs2vs1, me being the one and the others teams of hard comps cause this is my buddies test week so they're not around )= ) ...Stopping to build that new colony worked for me :P Might have been a slow advance but it was an unstoppable one. He couldn't take bac

No way lol. Defenses are useless enough as it is :P (And 75% of your income on big maps with lots of trade and such... just isn't that much, I was making more than a 1000 credits a second on a random huge map... ... I'm okay with only getting 262 credits a sec after taxes)

... Bombers are not a problem at all, especially after the patch. Just need a few frigates and don't skimp on the static defenses. If its a human player, the fact that you fell for a distraction so easily doesn't bode well for you... and if its a computer player well... Your getting outplayed by a computer. Enough said.
OH, I guess I did a noob thing and didn't read the latest post in the thread. Sorry If I just rehashed what had already been discussed.
Hey man its always good to have others backing you up when theres so much theory-mongering being done by a lot of the people in the thread rather than any kind of fact... or them actually playing and being mad cause they can't just spam ships or some other insta-win strat. You gotta think people. 'grats on your win btw, you

Most firepower at the front of the ship. Check. Wanting the front of the ship pointing at what its shooting at. Check. Wanting to remain stable and your arc of fire to remain very small so you can concentrate firepower. Check. Wanting your ship to be moving the hell around? No check. It makes sense for fighters/bombers. It doesn't make sense for frigates, cruisers or destroyers guys - and it takes away from some of the race's flavor. (TEC ships are like, almost all fo

uhhh, in terms of efficiency Vasari ships are easily 30% more effective for their 30% price... faster, more maneuverable, weapons tend to do better against more types of units... and they scale better too... Especially considering the phase gate technology, the speed technologies and the Dark Armada technology... (and already stated points)... More abilities, higher shield mitigation, less XP for the enemy to harvest, you can get resources back from your destroyed ships in

I highly recommend turrets. HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend. Much more durable, cheaper and the AI doesn't auto-target them as your first buildings to be destroyed. (With all upgrades, your turrets have 18 armor btw, more than your level 10 battleship. and some great damage and range - again with upgrades) And for turrets. STICK THEM AROUND YOUR PLANET. They cost 1 slot! One! Ring your planet and then stick some more around likely angles of attack and the locations you have your logisti

God, no single player campaign. and yes, there ARE that many multiplayer games going at the same time usually. I've never looked for other players - my friends are already there online we get going right away. RTS games LIVE for multiplayer. You can play a campaign once. How many times can you play multiplayer? OO exactly.
Is Sins of the Solar Empire suitable for a RTS fan?I have been looking for a decent space RTS since Homeworld 2.
<b

Wow, Thug you are amazingly incompetent. Move your capital to a planet NEXT to a star. A jump from star to star only counts as ONE movement space. I had an empire spanning 7 stars and 64 planets - and not one with a max allegiance less than 60. Just because you don't know or test the scaling doesn't mean its not there - and if your a galaxy spanning empire you should be BUILDING some defenses. Rebels are a laughable threat. SEcond off, increase fleet cap? What? Y

... how are fighters and bombers not easy? Capships have them and get more as they level up (mostly with the carrier), every race has a cruiser which can mount 1 squadron of fighters or bombers, and hanger defenses get 2 squadrons per hanger. Unit cap is in fleet research... but it also has a tax on all your resources. Like at the end you can have like 1200 unit cap.... but you lose 75% of your income to unkeep (cursor over your resources in the top right to see). Balancing the game ou

Lol guys, remember they did say they wanted to be able to finish it by the end of the month guys, don't go crazy (some of you are asking for huge balance/gameplay changes). And no, we don't need more supply cap. For the love of god, defenses are insanely hard to place for their price as it is. Personally, all I REALLY REALLY want is a little addition to the ship group/fleet infocard telling me how much supply that fleet is taking up... AND... PLEASE give us a litt
