Okay so, recently I installed Sins on my laptop (it was only on my desktop before) and now for some reason I cannot get ship icons working correctly. basically, i'm unable to have ship icons visible inless im really really close to the ships. normally i can see the ship icons from a very far distance. I have all graphic settings maxed as well. I played around with UI settings and found that unchecking "show icons" actually brought back the ship i

I did a search on this just now and came up with nothing that specific. Just descriptions of what artifacts do and what not. However, my problem is, I have no idea how to collect them to begin with. Im playing a big 1 v 1 game with my brother and theres hundreds of planets and several stars. We have rules set so we cannot actually kill eachothers home planet, etc, so the game is dozens of hours long. Anyways, throughout this game ive done alot of "Expl

Hello Sins Community, I played Sins back when it was first released. I'm an online player, it's all I do, is play online. As most know, multiplayer was an absolute mess back when Sins was first released. Due to many technical issues and design flaws. I came back again when Entrenchment was released. I tried out the game again (via multiplayer) but there was hardly anyone ever online. And when people were online, they saw my new user ID (forgot m

I've ran Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7, all 64bit versions, ultra, etc. Anyways, Across the board, W7 performs the best in every avenue. There was nothing that wasn't better about it. It takes a signficantly less amount of system resources than any other Microsoft OS. I'm running a pure gaming rig and w7 makes such a huge difference even if you have all the best hardware. Vista is soooooo clunky compared to w7. It's not even funny. the bottom

Same thing happened to me because I had the game from a long time ago. I simply re-purchased the game, actually bought the "bundle" and entered in all the new cd keys. I dont mind paying 35USD again, it helps support this great game anyways.

Hi, I prefer a long, drawn out game, over a large map. With Roleplaying, diplomacy, etc. Each player acts as a real nation of sorts and when encountering others either allies them or makes war or becomes nuetral. Anyways but in general I'm searching for long, relaxed games. I don't like zerging/rushing to the end. So are there any other like minded individuals out there who wanna mingle in space with me?

WOW! I have a new, new found respect for Stardock/CCP what a GREAT JOB These guys put a ton of work into the game. Most new game developers don't do much to their first titles. The ones who do put alot of work into their first titles become successful though. Look at Blizzard, the games they started off with, Warcraft I, Diablo I, and Starcraft I, they put a ton of effort into perfecting those games with constant updates that were seriously thought out. If u ask me, CCP is g

The most important thing the expansion pack needs is by far better planetary defenses. Currently, planet defenses are a joke! Not worth the money or the research. Just a useless function in the game. Even if you maxed out Tactical capacity on a planet and used it for nothing but counter-attack measure, your planet still doesn't stand a chance even against the smallest of attacks. So players don't waste their time on this and just build mass ships. So why have it in the game then?

XFIRE (when i used to use it) would crash my sins game DAILY! This got so annoying I obviously now don't use Xfire at all. WARNING: DO NOT use xfire if you are running SINS OF A SOLAR EMPIRE. XFIRE sucks to me now. It ruined some amazing games.

You pretend your space empires/nations/federations/alliances are like real life (in what we would imagine) and so that there's discussions and what not ingame to negotiate peace treaties, wars, etc. Like how in real life you don't just walk into someones yard and kill them all (like normal matches), there's consequences to your actions instead (like real life). It's almost like playing tech/econ until someone decides to be the evil empire and take over everything and then a good guy alliance t

[color="#00BFFF"][b]38 hours lol i was trying to find a distance of about 45 minutes to an hour between stars. giving star distances more realism and making you think twice about just jumping to a star randomly. (this is in a map with no wormholes) so far the highest that has seemed to work is a distance of 999,999,999 after that (1,000,000,000) the map doesnt seem to work.... anyone else test this? also, about zooming, it only lets me zoom out a tiny bit (Relative),

So, does anyone happen to know the maximum size of a galaxy? I wanted to create a map with stars that are very very far apart to make it more realistic to real life space. I just wasn't sure how far I should push the limits of how far apart stars are. <FONT c
