"Hard" AI players are too weak for me and "unfair" ones too difficult. I'd like to change the resource bonis and whatever else AI players get to values in between the two difficulty settings. Got trouble finding any useful configuration files to do that. Any tips?

It gives research_level * 5% credits and resources. I suppose you gotta destroy 30 or so structures (depending on what you hit) before it pays back, unless you kill a capital ship which is probably very hard to plan. I read in an old thread it would only pay back in games you would be winning anyway edit: Fixed numbers. It's just 5%, I shouldn't have trusted the wiki!
Interesting. I've watched some replays and it seems like nobody even thinks about researching this. It's a bit sad how some of those technologies that make the game really interesting are simply ignored. I've been thinking about how a split would look and play like..
Hello, I'm regularly playing singleplayer games and found myself spending a lot of time deciding whether the Vasari empire technology "Wreckage Auto-Salvage" is worth it every round I play. Anyway, this is not supposed to be about SP. I only played online with friends a few times, never anything high level and as such I'm curious if and under what circumstances this research is worth the cost in competitive games.
