ive never considered getting a reptile for a pet except when i was a child and wanted a snake....but your pics of your bearded dragon with the controllers....i want one now that way ill always have someone to play games with
Lol! Taz loves to pose for pictures so it's pretty easy to place him atop the controller or poke it so it gets his interest. On the Xbox360 controller he tends to bite the red and green buttons probably because he thinks they might be strawberry or lettuce/gree

Looks like you didn't build any research stations and also aren't aware of the research tree. It's the top center button and there's 4 tabs on it: Military, Civilian, Fleet, and Artifact. Use the fleet screen to increase your fleet limit and gain additional capital ship crews. Use the Military and Civilian screens to research their technology, respectively. The artifacts are discovered by exploring planets. You will need several research stations of both military and civilian type in order to un
Personally, I normally don't use those locations as choke points because you can't place any defenses. I normally use the system that's right next to that un-colonizable location. I will still set up resource extractors in those locations though.
i want one :O
You can get baby bearded dragons at almost any pet store. You can also find a lot of larger/older beardies up for adoption over at [link="http://www.petfinder.com"]PetFinder.com[/link]. Before you get one though, you absolutely MUST do research on the species and I recommend visiting the bearded dragon forums at [link="http://www.repticzone.com"]RepticZone.com[/link]. You can't just stick a bearded dragon in an aquarium and expect it to like you and survive. Ther
"Uh....where...TO, commander?" Seriously - the TEC sounds like a bunch of inebriated stoners!!!!! It's hilarious!
Hey, it could be worse. They could be yelling "take it!" every 5 seconds or taunting you with no way to disable those taunts. A game that did that came out mere months ago. I'd much rather have the 15-year olds from Sins! It looks like you're pointing out the colonizing frigate in particular. Would you want to take orders from a military commander
I'm going to give this a try shortly after I write this post. I'll probably send some feedback tomorrow. This looks good though. :) I really love the idea of variety in the planets, visuals, and such. I've often considered getting involved in modding too, but haven't quite made the leap here yet.
To the original poster, just remember it could have been worse. They could have used GameSpy and made you log in to GameSpy every time you wanted to play. When GameSpy goes down you can't play. So just remember, it could have been much MUCH worse. At least this website and the process to register is painless...unlike some other places.
Very nice :) I'll definitely be downloading this when it's ready. It seems like the particles are much brighter, numerous, and visible.
Sins actually has ways to counter spammers unlike games like Starcraft. This part of your post boggles me. Starcraft had one of the best counter systems in rts history. What single unit in that game could someone spam tirelessly that couldn't get them totally owned? I can't really think of any except for maybe a very late game unit like a carrier that you should never have let him get too many of in the first place.
Zerglings, carriers, dragoons, zealots, cruisers, tanks, and hydral
The EEE PC is equipped with an Intel GMA 900 integrated graphics processor. It does not support hardware T&L which nearly every single game out there these days requires at the bare minimum. Software may be able to emulate hardware T&L, but not on an EEE PC and not with any sort of decent performance. For more information consider visiting http://www.notebookreview.com . They have very reliable reviews and details of products (I would know, I've written a few over the past years).
A little more off topic, but why is it that people rant at all? If they dont like the game, then they dont have to play it, but in the end, they are the ones who paid for it, so its no-ones fault but their own.[. . .]
I know where you're coming from. I'm very positive towards Sins but if you saw the things I type on UT3 forums you'd think I was a totally different person incapable of positive thinking. The fact is that a lot of people want to like a game and are giving
Agent of Kharma, I know what you mean. This is an unfortunate issue in all online games. I've had it happen just about everywhere which is why I tend to play SP against the AI or bots more often than I play online MP with people. I also actively try to persuade friends to buy the same games I have so that we can play MP games together without having to leave opponents to chance. You just never know what you're going to get when you sign online in any game. And I also agree with Sibilant
Garravesh, keep playing. At first Sins might seem like it has some significant problems and a steep learning curve, but once you get into a groove it's actually the most addicting game I've played since Rise of Nations (World in Conflict was good if people were using their mic's). An easy thing you can do to improve your experience in SP is to lock the teams. Try locking them into 2v2 or 2v2v2 or 3v3 or even 1v1v1v-> free-for-all. Also try the game with and without pirates. Soon you'll find sett
If you're playing against the AI in SP, having at least 3 hanger defenses seems to deter the normal AI from attacking. I ran into a bunch of situations where the AI would jump ships into one of my planet's gravity wells and then immediately turn around because of those interceptor fighters coming at them. They would only launch an attack against me in full force or if they were paired up with a fellow AI. Hanger defense does not seem as effective in MP, but it sure can surprise people w
Personally, I don't think this is a good idea at all. I think it would take away some of the strategy to Sins because who is going to care about units that get replaced automatically? It's a great idea for trade, refinery, and construction ships but is a terrible idea for war ships.
Have you tried locking teams? This way you can cause a free-for-all where the AI cannot gang up on you. You can also set custom teams so that one or multiple AI's can play on your team without abandoning you or giving you pesky missions.
if players really want to learn how to play this game I highly recommend they join one of the clans that have been formed by the beta testers of this game. They are already offering information on game play and such.. In fact they can get in on developing strategies as this is a new game and a new style not found in most other multi player games.
Clans take too much involvement for your average Joe. I recall joining one once for another game several years ago and it was too much co
What's all this COMPLETE and TOTAL BS people keep saying about a "combined arms fleet" should be able to easily beat a spammed fleet of a single type? Why the hell should that be the case, and what real-world scenario is this supposed to simulate? In the real world, if your enemy is massing nothing but infantry men with rifles, You'd be smart to mass heavy machine gun emplacements, and just let those guys charge right in.
If you're commanding an army in the real world, you're nuts.
I agree with a lot of what you're saying. I should mention that if Sins were turn-based and not an RTS I would never have bought it. Likewise, if it was the normal generic Command and Conquer or Warcraft -like RTS I also would not have bought it. Most of the people playing Sins who are complaining about cheap strategies or wanting more ship caps (something I'm completely opposed to) are getting outplayed and need to sit back to re-evaluate what they're doing or seek new ideas for strategies.<br/
On a side note, I have always wondered if anyone with insider connections would start a website that profiles industry developers. The main goal of site would be to clearly show who is player base friendly and who not as well as showing detailed production team histories. Think of it as a sort of a who's who of gaming.
That is a very very interesting idea. When I get some free time I'll have to think about this. :)
(intended for the general off-topic forum) Ever wonder who all those random online strangers are? You've heard about the WoW-addicts, LRM spammers, predators, salespeople, LRM spammers, spammers, identity thieves, LRM spammers, and so on...but here's one that takes the cake when it comes to online wackos! <img style="
Several of us were discussing the rigs necessary to run this game well and I came across a post over at the Wargamer concerning this topic. The designers suggest a dual-core CPU for best performance (IE and Intel Core Duo machine). One gent has: 3 MB RAM, nVidia 7800 XT 256 MB video card and a 3.4 Ghz Intel Pentium 4 I have a 2.8 Ghz Pentium D 820 (Smithfield) that has "dual core technology" but lacks the "Core Duo" label. Will my rig run the game any better than hi
Wait a minute...is this real? That was a really...campy? I think that's the word I want. Far Cry was and still is a very memorable and quality game. However, movies based on games...eh, I was going to say something bad about Doom because it completely traded Hell with genetically engineered stuff, but I never actually got around to seeing it so... Hey, it could have been worse. They could have gone ahead with that movie about Halo and the other one about Gears of War. I just want to see
Instead of spending months and months working on a TC or IP mod for Sins, can someone please, o please, do new models for existing units!?
Actually, I think the underlying motive for your post has got some real merit to it. Some of the designs are ugly when you ignore that they're supposed to fit in the game's lore. What if ships changed appearance if they were upgraded? Ok, so you click once to get the ship model and now you can start building it. What if there was a second e
Interesting point. Sadly I dont know about the vast majority of developers on the list to even consider making such statements. Do you do reviews or something similar? Additionally they stated that the list was an opinion of the editors at NextGen if memory serves.
I've written freelance paid mobile/laptop product reviews, yes. I also write game reviews but it's those user reviews (mine are normally very lengthy). I tend to stay highly-informed about what's going on and get involve
