Strange, maybe it's a vista issue then.

One 10 player game I joined, 5 people quit when they found out the speed was set to normal and not fast, with the host shortly following.

I don't know either.. 32 bit applications have a maximum memory reservation of 2gb I believe.

I think this game is more memory limited than anything else. It doesn't seem to touch my CPU much...but my 2gb of RAM stays pretty full. it stores a lot of info on a paging file on mine when it runs out of ram, which can make it hang pretty bad sometimes.

What is the typical bottle neck of this game? I have a E6600 2gb memory 2900 xt 1GB card. <br style="color: rgb(105,

I have the game setup right to host, and I have hosted a couple. But, when it would attempt to migrate to me...but it still dropped everyone...I don't get it.

I can't imagine the game using much more than that on an upstream. An easy way to find out is to download an app like FreeMeter which monitors your incoming/outgoing bandwidth http://freemeter.meta-forge.com/ When you get in a large game tab out, or put the app on a second monitor and see what your upstream is at..if it is pegged then yeah that's your issue. Also check to see what your upstream is doing before even opening the game, maybe you have a bug of some sort that is stealing it.

First time playing MP (on ironclad anyway) Joined 7 games, the host gave up and left every one after 15-20 minutes. That is the most annoying feeling. Any groups on here that play dedicated games and don't quit everytime the phone rings?

If you guys think this is bad try getting Age of Kings (IMO one of the best RTS games ever made) working over a routed network. I have tried for years to get that game working reliably... A friend and I, (I am a MCSE/CCNA, he is a MCSE/CCNP) tried for 12 straight hours once trying to get it to work, but some of our friends routers just wouldn't play well no matter how we set it up. Also, AoM, AoEIII, Homeworld, all had pretty serious issues with routed networks. It seems to be pretty

I haven't had any issues, but have 1GB of video memory, could that have anything to do with it? Maybe it doesn't need to use as much virtual address space.
