I havn't had time to read the whole thread, but wanted to add my opinion anyway. Sorry if this was discussed, debunked, ect. I agree with both of the OP's points. The lack of story is a very terrible aspect of Sins. How am I supposed to know anything about my race? I barely know their name. You say some games don't need it. Civilization games don't need it, because they are already based on the biggest story of the world. Humanity's story. We grew up reading the "story" in the textbooks
