I can't speak for everyone, but most of the GE clan has transfered to Age of Conan until Stardock stops dropping the ball. Where is the 1.1 patch??

redwingdw28, The "glow" is most likely malice if it's affecting your ships. Under malice all of your ships will take an extra % damage from every enemy ship shooting at them.. effectively quintupling the advent ships damage.. Try and prevent that from happening. It's an ability only the advent progenitor mothership can use, so take the thing out first if you have a big enough fleet to do so.

Alright enouigh of this silliness. I do not speak for my clan, The Galectic Empire, but I have heard several complaints from sins players regarding the state of the clan ballance. These complains are somewhat warrented. Galactic Empire plays almost exclusively inhouse games, and consequently, those of us who play against pubs tend to be the ones who would give us a bad reputation. Space ponies betrayed the Galactic Empire clan. If you wish to establish yourselves, challenge us (GE). Dude. #1. Advent illuminators have nearly twice the dps of the other range frigates including the side arcs. #2. You will not get enough counter units playing as the other races before I get guardians. Here is why: Step 1: I mass 30 illums and get first 3 shield upgrades for them. Step 2: I get guardians. Step 3: I get repulsion for guardians. If you rushed to kodiacs in a 1v1 I would roll you with illuminators. But, if you got a bunch of ships
Dude. You're points about knowing your enemy are valid, but you [B]can in fact[/B] be pushed outside the gravity well. There are a few counters to illuminators that I have mentioned but [B]the only[/B] may be beat guardian repulsion is either with bombers or with a ton of fighters. The only thing that can beat an advent mixed fleet with some repulse guardians is either returning armada or a MUCH bigger fleet. Yes, advent are unbalanced.

It's best to have practical names that taunt your opponent... For example: Name your sova carrier "EMBARGO OMG!"
Yeah guardians dominate, and so do HC, but with the rediculously overpowered illums in 1.04 I usually get them first.
Alright guys so i've done a couple of tests in-game. Kortul devastator mana burn is worthless, but the radiance works well. Assailants counter it but critically this ability depends on number of jumps the sova has to make to get to you. Also, assailants don't work nearly as well in 1.04 since the sova is actually faster than them now.
That's true but the Kol has that rail gun ability. Maybe the Akkan with ion bolt and some lrms would kill the thing faster though.
This is specifically a Vasari Assailant Rush order for smaller maps. Civic is viable if you're rushing returning armada.. otherwise you need ships first.
I also think you like rushing asteroids with your evacuator drex, you do it almost every game i've seen you play as vasari. lol. It's a great strategy, especially if you're getting double teamed or embargo rushed. The best defense is a good offense, especially against a sova that will probably retreat before you could kill it.
The haylcon carrier may actually be A LOT more viable now, although not nearly as good as a progenitor or radiance, it has a passive aura that increases beam damage. With the better illuminators this ability is that "icing on the cake". I think i'll try it out as a second cap in a game later.. to see if it's worth it.

Thanks Drex. I was the poster here (changed my forum name). This was more a matter of curiosity.. I have only been embargo rushed once. In any event, most of the points made so far have been valid. Honestly mass assailants works if you intercept the sova. Mass assailants + a devastator really crushes it. These are what I used. But if I fear a sova rush (from you Drexion? :SURPRISED: ) in the future and am playing as advent or tec, what has been mentioned above soun
PS: SpaceDebris I don't know how skilled you are, and honestly I haven't played against HuntingX, but he's the head of the most elitest clan on sins... if he's as good as Drexion from his clan you're in for a tough fight. Better to test that assailant rush against someone you know won't out-micro you.
