Tony, from the looks of it your laptop should easily run this game even on the highest of settings. Like in my previous post, I think you should try to get some software to monitor the temperatures. You can try to turn down your graphical settings to the minimal settings and see if it does the exact same thing as it did before with the highest settings. I would assume that if it acts the same no matter what level of settings you put it at, that you might have some sort of drivers problem. If

I agree with Kryo, laptops really are not meant for gaming. Sure, there are laptops that are built for gaming but even those can get very hot. More then likely your laptop is getting too hot, you might not experience heating issues but the more load intensive the game is on the system the harder everything has to work, which can raise temperatures pretty drastically without you even realizing this change. Which can be pretty common in laptops. I had a pretty good laptop a few years ago that
I used to get the mini-dump problems back in 1.02 and that was only when I was activating mods manually instead of having them turn on when I start the game. I haven't got any mini-dumps since. The only thing I can think of if it is crashing even without mods is to do a complete uninstall and a fresh install. I am running Win XP Pro, 2gb of ram, 8600 GT, AMD Athlon X2 2.8ghz
I feel the same way about having my ships in the tree, seeing that I don't focus a lot on my planets as much as I pay attention to my fleets and the conditions they are in.
Thanks Szoreny, I didn't know it was so easy to change whose leader of the fleet. I have recently noticed some other things with my fleets. While I get a mixed fleet of all types of frigates and cruisers following my capital ships, they all behave the way they should for the most part when it comes to battle, except recently when I was playing as TEC. The repair ship, can't remember its name, and I think it was called the Cielo Cruiser like to jump away from the current battle and then jump b
Well, maybe you more game savvy players can fill me in on some better controls. I like to have my Capital Ships, usually the battleship class, be my Commander of the fleet. So I usually create the fleet with him and let all the others auto join up to the fleet. I do that mainly because I don't want a damn frigate to be the leader of my whole fleet, and I haven't figured out how else to make sure that my Capital Ship ends up being the Commander every time. I use my CTRL-# groups for units tha
I just got around to updating my game yesterday and put in some good time conquering worlds while chewing bubble gum and taking names. Everything was going over perfectly fine, worlds were being taken, my allies ripping me off with their mission requests, and the pirates tasting swift punishment at the hands of my fleets. I had three main fleets all quite large filled with several capital ships per fleet followed by a good assortment of frigates. As the game has been nearing th
I dunno about everyone else but I am very impressed. Almost everything I noticed as being a tad dull in the game looks much more impressive now. I am very interested in trying this one out when you are done... Kudos and great work.
I think the CPU players need to give out some, well lets see, more realistic missions. Realistic as in not asking with in the first 15 minutes of the game to ask me to give them 1200 metal or 3000 credit. Oh by all means I would love to share the wealth... IF I HAD ANY TO BEGIN WITH... With in the first 15 minutes I am working on spreading across the planets and gathering those materials so I can even build a force to be reckoned with. So my puny fleet of 1 capital ship and sev
I know not everyone out there is a big anime fan, or likes un-original ideas when it comes to mods. I think it would be awesome to see a Robotech/Macross mod. If not Robotech/Macross then maybe a Gundam mod, prefer it to not be Gundam Wing, more like the original Gundam. Really nothing but bigger ships each of which could pump out a certain number of purchased suits. As for super strong units use mobile armors or gundam, and limit the count to very few and expensive.
