Most likely it's either your starting fleet size or the fleet size the AI will use when they decide to attack. which i think would be great it gets tiring chasing down the AI every time I move my fleet on top of theres. it will be nice with the new speed options really looking forward to it. I hope the new improved AI can actually give me a run for my money sense I really never like playing against other players in RTS's. don't ask why i just don't I'm just not a competitive person with

I really don't know why people don't know this or probably don't like it. But I group all the same ships into a completely separate squads so I have a capital squad, a siege frigate squad, a carrier squad etc etc. Although this can get a bit hard to track on the empire tree if you have twenty planets which is why I don't use Auto Pin But, it makes the AI of your fleet manage large fleets much much more affectively and requires less micro to get proper targets. <br/

MY system specs are Win XP Amd 64 x2 5200+ 2 gigs DDR2 800 dualed 8800 GTS 640 meg 250 gig sata 3 hardrive internet is 768k down and 128k up on Supreme Commander my system handled the game fine even with a TON of units on the screen but online play was to much for my internet. I played a 5v5 game 5 players versus 5 hard AI but then agian that was my max limit on supcom. I'll try using the freemeter and see what it says and give an update.

I think its based on whats on the planet usually you'll find resources at 50% and artifacts at 100% but i have gotten resources at 100% as well. if you get a resource off a planet i think it boosts your asteroid rate when getting crystal and/or metal. if you find a planet with heavy neutral defense you can usually find artifacts on them.
Oh and I'd say that tactic is more of a "chain" than a "leapfrog" - since he's not bypassing anything but going in sequence?
Well ya he is chaining his commune towers. but he means leapfrogging as in when a planet goes neutral he jumps to it and repeats the process. it effective tactic but it's a slow one because those towers are spendy which can be used for a bunch of LRM's lol
This is a bad argument because it doesn't make the author aware of the issue, and the f

Hey glad to help best way to learn is experiment it took me a while to remember all the lingo for that stuff too. took me a while to figure out how the whole culture thing worked until i messed around with advent. just remember if you don't understand what something does build it and look at it's info card it will give you pretty god details on what it's doing. another thing to remember is when you use the culture buildings if you look at the phase lanes you'll see a line travel down t

Divination makes it cheaper and faster to search a planet for artifacts. fore warning and acute premonitions allows you to see ships jumping to your planet fore warning been 1 phase lane away and acute being 2 phase lanes away when ships phase jump. Upkeep i think you mean fleet upkeep that just means how much your fleet capacity is taking from your economy the more you upgrade your fleet the more it will drain your economy. I never had to enter my key when i installed the game the only time i had to enter it was when i clicked Ironclad Online which brings you to Sins website to make an account. if go to multiplayer menu i don't even need to log in just click multiplayer and it browses for LAN games. Plus you cant even get the patch for the game unless you use your key to make an Ironclad Online Account. cant get the patch anywhere else. which also means that if you do install the game on another machine yo

If i remember correctly you don't even need the Key to play on a LAN the key is only used so you can get on ironclad online account and play online. so in turn you can probably supply an entire LAN on a full 10 player game using one game.
I haven't had any real problems with the diplomacy. In fact, I think it makes games vs multiple AIs easier. The only thing that is odd is that you can have a trade agreement before a cease fire. It doesn't make much sense to me to be trading with someone who you are trying to damage/kill.
Trade Alliance just means they wont shoot your trade ships and your trade ships will go through there controlled areas to get somewhere over going a place that has enemies. so you can s

This is my first map i created just using the in game map designer i didn't use galaxy forge. http://files.filefront.com/Neutral+Zonegalaxy/;9684532;/fileinfo.html This map is larger then the random map generator and is more spread out with starting locations instead of pulling 5 into one star. This is a very heavy neutral zone every planet and asteroid is usually well guarding especially th

Alright so I figured out the answers to 1. and 2 which is seen in my edit. but i have had no responses all day on this so i am curious if anyone know if you can get the neutral colonies to attack instead of just sitting in there base? and if you cant is there a way it can be moded. It would be great to have random attack on your trade stations and asteroid stations from neutral colonies instead of bidding with pirates who just attack everything that way instead of wasting a pla

So i been playing with the map designer in the game and find it nice to make my own game against the NPC's on Hard i have 3 questions related to the map designer though. 1) if i create a large map 4 stars and around 100-200 planets if i put in lets say 3 pirate bases per star does that make much larger pirate raids? or is it just the closest one to there target move out? 2)On the slider for neutral colonies if i put that all the way to the top and
