Serial Via Email? in Sins of a Solar Empire Sins Forums

I don't know where else to post this, but this is regarding the digital download/purchase of SoaSE. My question is both simple and 'complex. Is any email sent containing my serial after I purchase the game online? Or if it's not the general procedure, would it be possible to obtain my serial via email? If yes, would the key be 'valid' with a 'pirated' version. As far as I know, the game doesn't have any copy protection, so I figure there shouldn't be any issues with it. Ditto regar
