There are lots of pirates because Stardock stuck to thier guns and did not put DRM in Demigod. Its as simple as that. So what if there are lots of pirates playing Demigod! There are probably a hundred times more pirates playing Spore. This comes as no suprise because we expected it all along. The reason the number of "real" customers listed is so small is because only a fraction of the whole is bothering to play multiplayer. Hard bots are more than adequat for a fun play experience an

With the current control scheme I agree, there would be a lot of little ways to automate the system that should reduce micromanaging. Unfortunatly all I can say at this point is that I wouldn't stop improving it till it worked. But small changes would help a lot, even with vanilla Sins. Currently you can only pick squadrons for capships and cruisers after they have been built. Since squadrons are currently free there is no reason why you shouldn't be able to pick them while the ship is in con
For me it would be a random single star huge map. I don't like multi-star maps because it takes too long get around.
Edit button is your friend [e digicons][/e] Also that is a good idea. Every aircraft carrier worthy of the name has craft packed ass to elbow in some space or other. Usually this means lining them up somewhere on deck that does not block the launch ramp. There is no reason we couldn't do this with Sins carriers as well. Strike craft from another carrier could land in a hangar bay to be rescued. The worst possible scenario is that there is no room to store the fighter, b
What I don't get about it is if you target it against enemy ships or friendly ships that recently got destroyed? And whenever I turn it to autocast it just fires off whenever the cooldown is ready, no matter what my fleets are actually doing. The tooltip could be better.
People call them eggs? The first thing I thought when I saw one was "kinder suprise". It has a delicious filling and lots of deadly toys inside. Looking at the Sova from this angle I'm surprised more people don't call em cheese graters. My favorite is definitly the Kol. First capship I ever used.
The way I see it. The chance of an Earth like planet being created is pretty small. The chance of life forming on Earth was even smaller. The chance of us evolving into the humans we are now is even smaller than that. But here we are, using our telescopes to explore the universe. The universe is JUST SO DAMN BIG. We already know life happened once, there is no way it couldn't happen again.
If having a more polished experience is so important to you then just put the game down for a month and play it later.
Edit: Got my ass kicked by the nightmare Demigod AI, its rigged! Rigged I tell you! [e digicons]:S[/e] Anyway came back to do some spellchecking. Sorry for the lack of updates but I just got my hands on Demigod and it is every bit as awesome as I hoped it would be. The multiplayer is still iffy but at this point watching it get fixed is like watching the paint dry on a masterpiece. It is happening, it will be finished eventually, and in the mean time the painting alread

I have great faith in you all. [e digicons]|-)[/e]
Exile 3 was a great game. I actually have the source code to it at home (long story). I really got into Blades of Exile, too, but that was about the time I got into programming and also had to concentrate on schoolwork.
Crikey! I have Exile 3 on my desktop right now! I'm still playing through Exile 1 which I never finished but my favorite memory was using simulacrum to spawm vahnatai lords. Took me over 10 minutes of saving and
It could just be an oversight, they look and act like cannons at any rate.
Range 0 as in the ability can only reach out to range 0. Or the ability radius is range 0?
Man this thread really brings back memories. It saddens me a bit that all of you new generation folks never got to experience the golden age of educational gaming. Most people I talk to these days don't even recognize The Learning Company that gave us such classics as Operation Neptune and a long line of super solver games. Gizmos and Gadgets being my favorite.
Hmm, are you talking about the free Sins MyColours theme? If so just fire up impulse and go over to the My Software tab. I have Sins installed and the theme is listed there for download as is MyColours.
EDIT: Oops! I forgot to edit this into my previous post with copy and paste. Just pretend the two are continuous.
Experience should not be divided. If a single 40 XP worth unit is detroyed, ALL cap ships and all SC should get 40 XP. I might as well make a small detour and explain some other mechanics that regulate the use of strike craft. Thought most of them were not expressly mentioned in the story, they were still there in the background and I did have them in mind while I was writing. --- The first mechanic is fuel consumption. When strike fighters are first launched they enter an operational envelope. The boundary of this envelope is the distance a fighter can fly while still being able to return to
Thank you very much for your detication. [e digicons][/e]
That is one thing I really wish we had. A button or little sub-empire tree on the interface that lets us keep track of things like superweapons, scouts and colony ships. Whenever I build those I always end up digging around to find them which is a total pain in the ass. Simple improvements like a circle that slowly dissapears the longer a planet goes without being scouted, or a symbol akin to the capital planet tiara thing that denotes the presence of superweapons. Clicking on the tab
Well you could assign them to control groups I suppose. Whenever I build novaliths I always assign each of them a number so it shouldn't be too hard to lump them all together.
just an idea/question but....why is tribute taxxed? the whole upkeep thing is a portion of your income that is diverted to supplying your fleet. why is tribute taxxed? its as if your income isn't enough? payroll loans anyone?
The reasoning behind it is that bigger fleets require more resources to maintain. More crews = more food etc. And I totally agree on the double upkeep tax.
Even with full tech bonuses terran planets support the biggest population, desert planets support the biggest industry. And volcanic planets support very little population. It doesn't really matter who you play. It says each race has a preference but there isn't much concrete mechanics to back this up.
3-5: Manufactural Selection The basic idea behind varied strike craft is to add a bit of tactical depth. Current strike craft are undeniably useful but extremely bland. One squadron of strike craft is a nuisance. 20 of them will destroy whole enemy fleets one ship at a time even as thier carriers run circle away from the enemy fleet. I could talk more about them but meh, moving on. When I was writing the story I ended up doing a lot of thinking on TEC warfare
Some of the research tooltips are very vague. Some use nothing but text to describe thier effects which isn't helpful at all.
