If you can't see past the words to get the message written then you aren't really listening, so what does it matter? The words may seem flammatory, but the message is not. The same cannot be said of certain others in this thread...

If you really want to know what the AI is doing with the black market, couldn't you just check the post-game statistics? The prices are "moving all over the place", but its really just minor fluctuations, even in a market boom you don't really see the price of either resource pass the 600 mark.
Grarg, I tried to edit my post but it didn't take effect. fenwe, your argument here is a bit silly. Are you saying that because you don't play the game competitively, no one should be allowed to play the game competitively?
Like I said... polarizing elements. People get into an "Us vs. Them" mentality and it taints their ability to make rational observations. Especially amusing is the need for such a self-proclaimed anticompetitve group to "win" an argument on the internet.
You can please the casual crowd or you can please the competitive crowd, but you can't please both. You can please the "realism" crowd or you can please the play-balance crowd, but you can't please both.So why try?
This entire statement could not be more false. There have been plenty of solid games that left people happy on all fronts.
Man, I just can't go anywhere without some asinine polarizing element showing up. Why does competitiveness even matter in this thread? Shouldn't the most casual of gamers agree that the game is more fun for everyone involved if there isn't one single strategy more powerful than the rest?
My problem with the portraits is that I wish I could mix and match them separately, as there always seems to be one picture in a set that I just can't stand... Still, the artist did a good job with those.
It was only mentioned once, but does no one have any problem with Trade Ports being better than Refineries for collecting resources? That seems like a strange oversight...
