Cool, gonna be trying this out when I get home. One other question, Will this map work with the Out-of-the-box version of the game or are there any other mod dependencies (e.g. DanMan's 7DS, Bailknights's, Sins Plus?)

I would think the missile pods could be done fairly easily, just generate several TEC missile batteries for each battleship. Then after one shot, they could probably be made to blow up. You could have an SDP (see below,) where you simply create/buy more pods. I'd like to see something like the laser heads implemented if even just graphically. I have a thread [link="https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/318096"]here[/link] regarding Electronic warfare, but the response was fairl

Hmm, OK, forget control, how about simply being to see as though you are on the bridge/cockpit of a given ship. I remember that Homeworld had that feature where you could hit a key, I think it was 'O', or shift 'O' or ctrl 'O' or something and you would instantly shift from watching and controlling to viewing from the bridge/cockpit.. not a game winner (or even changer,) but definitely fun especially in some of the larger furballs. of course this game is inherently 2-d but I think i would fun..

Basically, one shot should take out the shields of a cap ship (or there abouts.) It should have a long recharge time and should only be forward facing. If you took another shot it should damage the hell out of the the hull. The forward facing part isn't really all that important. However, as before, I'm more interested in the ability to have range/accuracy modifiers for missiles.
I have no idea, but assuming by the age they are in, the missles are certainly smart anough to track their targets and lazers are adjusted on the fly so its diffcult to miss, but the ships that shoot projectiles do seem unrealistic it almost seems as they are shooting smart bullets...
In principle, I would agree with you, however, I'm reading a series of books right now (Honor Harrington,) that includes Missile Decoys and Electronic Warfare. It also includes jammers and p

I'd like to know if it's possible to set up ranges so that the further you are from your target the lower the accuracy. I don't know, it just seems that it's a tad unrealistic to have EVERY missile from EVERY ship hit. This might also open up the idea of having some sort of counter missile defense research available in the tech tree. Any ideas of whether or not this is possible? I'm not sure it is. Thanks in advance.

What I did is not really "point defense" in the classical sense. I would attribute point defense towards something more like being able to shoot down missiles, which i have been given to understand isn't possible, yet.. It's just that instead of using the rail guns (in my case,) to shoot at a cap ship or frigate, I'm choosing instead to shoot at fighters.. it's still the same amount of damage. I simply eased the need for fighters and can instead focus all of my squadrons on b

Sorry about the delay.. There really needs to be some work done on this Forum. All I did was to go into each of the Battleships' .entity file and under the appropriate "Weapon" section changed the CanFireAtFighter from FALSE to TRUE... Which is what the OP did. It's just that with rail guns, I can see something actually happening. The fighters' explosion is still kinda easy to miss, though.

Awesome idea, man.. I just made the cap-ship modification that you suggested. I'm also running the rail guns (SG-1) mod as well; and I found that the rail guns mod helped me realize that your suggestion actually works. And it looks incredibly sweet. It's like all these tracer rounds tracking the fighters. And I see little explosions and stuff. In the interest of balance, however, I only gave that ability to each races battleship. Great Idea!

Woo-hoo, got it.. Finally. All that for a 7K file.. *sigh* Oh, well. I'll be tying it over the next couple of days. I'll let you know what I think.
