I have the following pointers. 1. Build the Space Egg (Evacuator, it's the middle capital ship on the cap selection screen). Get colonize, and then get nanite bomb, and then gravity bomb, and then the planet sucker at level six. This Capital ship is the jewel of your fleet. It has colonize (to help expand quickly early), nanite bomb (does damage to a ship and lowers it's armor temporarily), and gives you a resource income at level six. Pick it. Pick it hard. 2.

The ability only really comes in handy against strikecraft or against Advent Usinga Rapture with Vertigo. That ability reduces the hit % of opposing ships. There's also asteroid belts where everything has its hit percentage lowered by 20%. Overall, the ability targeting uplink is rarely useful. Get ion bolt if u have an Akkan. For that mattere, pick a differentrace. I hate TEC.

I'm so back baby. I did want to make one critique. I hate TEC. I rarely play as them. I'm an advent entrepreneur. I'm not trying to be cocky, but if I had to describe myself I'dsay I have the best understanding of counters in the game. Not to say no one else does, but after writing my unit guide, I understand it all fully and completely. My love of scouts is matched by no one. I thinktheonly person I have yet to win a game against at some point since February 2008 is probably berzerker. He ca

No no no no no.....if he's massing Assailants that means he's got a ton of ships that can be easily killed by fighters. Yes, I understand that a group of assailants is annoying, but fighters counter them so easily. AND here's why the counter works: Carriers are faster than Long Range Frigates. Trust me man. Countering in this game isn't too difficult. Though yes, definitely, keep your caps away from Vasari. Oh, Vasari are great at destroying one ship. That's the point of the phase mis

I made a post about this a long time ago. I'll give it a bump so you can see it. I spell out how to counter an illum spam. Really, it's not too hard, but it's one of the hardest tactics to counter (oxymoron, yes). Look for it on the strategy forum. It's by Raging Amish

Not necessarilly. It means that units with low health are boned: i.e. Guardians. Advent against a Vasari player should be buying the health upgrades. In all honestly, the best thing to do is just watch to see if your opponent is targeting your caps (99% of the time if he's competent that's his first target against an Advent). If he is, make sure it runs, don't let it fight. Just retreat it to a repair depot. This way, he's wasting time and damage on a ship you planned to let be damaged

It's a pretty lopsided ratio. What's nice though is that even with the glitch, light frigs still do the job. Let's say you need to take down 1 Advent Carrier, non-glitched. Advent: 5 TEC: 4 Vasari: 3 1 TEC/Vasari Carrier Advent: 4 TEC: 3 Vasari: 2 That's 1.09 of course. Here's what I found in practice. 5 disciples will take down 1 Advent carrier and no disciples will be lost. Can you get away with fewer light frigs? Sure.

I understand where you're coming from, but there's actually two methods I've seen that work and one that you would think would work but it doesn't. The one that doesn't work is ironically the one that should: flak. They've been nerfed so hard in the Beta that they just can't seem to do the job they should against fighters. The first is capital ship abilities. Vasari are on the short end of the stick on this one, as none of their capitals have an effective anti-strikecraft abil

Options are slim against long range frigate spammers. A seasoned Vet at this game's best option is to just build more long range frigates than his opponent, tech up more, and utilize his capital ships properly to win the war. When you see a long range frigate spam, the reaction with Vasari is different. Unfortunately, the only ships you get early on in decent numbers include Scouts, Basic Assault Frigates, Assailants and flak. Long range frigates counter BA frigs. The

Only it's own as far as I know. That ability is almost purely a late game ability. It's meant for when the carrier has already reached lvl 7, and you finally get that sixth squadron at level 8. Yeah. Kinda sucks. Nice late game buff to the carrier cap though.

no cost effective counter? Whoa, wake up. In 1.09 light frigates completely maaaaaul carrier spams. One drone host takes up 20 ship slots! That's 3 Vasari , 4 TEC, and 5 advent light frigates for one drone host. Since both types of strikecraft do 50% of their damage against light frigs and light frigs get a +50% damage boost against carrier armor, I would hope the counter would be obvious. It works my friend. I swear it does. Seriously. Try it. Now, where I do agree with you though is

Oh, I'm sorry, and you're right, they don't destroy too much. What's key is picking the right targets. What I mean is, look around his worlds. Find two key targets: military labs and frigate factories. I'm not going to say everyone does this, but most people only use the frigate factory on the homeworld and build their EARLY fleets from just that frigate factory. When I say early, I mean within the first 30 to maybe 45 minutes. Eventually, people build a few more, bu

The scout bomb ability is a third tier tech in the military tree. I have no idea what it's called but it has a picture of a stopwatch. Once it's teched, the ability is turned on for all of your scouts. Be careful. Know where they are so when it turns on you can disable the autocast, and I do mean on all scouts....except for your scouts that are on auto explore and scouting. Ok, once it's teched, you have to send them one by one and tell them to target a building with this abi
