Yeah, somewhat amusing. :) But I can see where both sides are coming from. It's a learning experience.
As for phase missiles, they may be much more expensive then other weapons which would restrict their use.
^^ This. With phase missles being the only Vasari weapon that actually (for sure; pulse guns may or may not have a tangible ammo) requires materials for each round used, it makes sense that they'd be more expensive to use. That and having to house the munitions on-board would take up a lot of space. I

I guess I'm in a very small minority that finds something exciting about not knowing anything at all. Sure it'd be nice to have pics or a video to look at and such, but it's not like you're getting something to play early. I also don't like seeing movie trailors most of the time. It seems they ruin the movie for me... well sometimes. How many times do you go to a movie and realize 1: all the good parts of the movie were the parts they showed in the trailor and

Can't you still lose the planet to culture? Just not bombardment? Or was that debate settled already and I missed the memo?

Thank you Craig. :) Sadly it has to be such a cryptic message, but at least there's still some life there.

As far as holding a door open for someone behind me, usually I just keep it open until they can catch up to hold it themselves. If we're both on opposite sides of say, a glass door, and I get there before them, sure I'll hold it open for them. Nothing worse than getting a door slammed in your face by some jerk either not paying attention or not caring. Now as far as creating games to target demographics... There's nothing at ALL wrong with that. In fact, it's

IMHO think this paper or article or whatever is more just a showcase that she is capable of drawing conclusions from observations she's made. She just happened to pick Starcraft for her topic. If this is truely what she thinks and not just some BS she worked up for a grade in a class; then well yeah, she's waaay oversensitive and reading into (some) stuff that is clearly not there. Maybe Blizzard should have made all the races exactly the same in the game. That way

What about the Zerg's Spire? Obviously a giant penis... And I'm assuming she hasn't played much SC herself. Going by her gameplay "examples" for Terran and Protoss.

I was playing against a hard advent the other day and took over one of its asteroids. It continued to try to take that asteroid back even when I conquered planets further into their empire. Strange how the AI can sometimes have tunnel vision about one particular planet.

The little thumbs up icon below the post gives karma. And I see your point, RA. It does seem strange (totally just in a logical sense) that extractors deep in space away from planets produce more than extractors specifically made by the factions and near a planet. They should be more of a slight boost to any economy, not a main source.

There are a few possible solutions for bringing the TEC and Advent colony ships' neutral capturing ability up some. 1> Sobric's suggestion of upping AM recharge rate. But this also adds the ability to colonize faster and I don't know how that'd balance out. 2> Lower the AM cost of resource capture for the two ships. 3> Giving the ships a boost in total AM of around 10 or 15. Though this would also have an effect of making colonizi

I just had a thought on repulse, not sure if it's been brought up yet. But what if instead of it being an ability that pushes ships around, that it be more of a barrier ability. You use it once you set up your guardians to project shields and then everything outside the ball is stopped from getting in. So it'd be more of a proactive ability so you use it right before the battle begins. Any enemy ships inside the ball can get out if they want, but they wouldn't be allow

Well the Enforcers have Inertial Field that slows enemy ships. So there's the solution for the problem for Vasari at least. Kodiaks are able to speed up to move in on their opponents, thereby moving the front line further out. Decent solution to keep other ships at a longer range. Destras don't seem to have a good ability in this reguard, but then again as you mentioned the Guardians have Repulse. Though it still needs a fix of some kind.
