For this sort of mod where there are definite threats early on, I'd suggest changing the default home template along these lines so players and NPC's can't rush you. Please deal with this Star/Clad. Even large fleets turn tail instead of putting up even minimal defense, they'll run all the way back to their homeworld and then put up a pitiful fight.
Talk with Danman, I can't wait for Atlantian vs Jove, TCA v Caldari, Unity v Gallente. Light, Medium, Heavy Drones can be spawned by the ship as an ability so they don't have to be built and they will have a set combat time before popping. If spawned however, they'll be just like any other ship and capable of phase jumping. With 1.12, aren't there a variety of fighters (4 types) that'll cover drones? see prior posts about ships. GL

What until 7DS comes out, yup only 1.05 compatible but worth it. I have heavily modified the GSDef with 4 racial militias, heavy patrols (don't actually roam :( ), and heavily colonized worlds of populated by many different races.
Now if there were only a way to set at least stars on the Z-Axis so the Main 64 planet board is at 0, then 1 at -400 and 2 at +400 for constant separation. I'll email Blair Fraser about it. Read it in notepad, it has a scenario template for the home planet at the end so you can at least play the map in SINS 1.1 -hopefully. Just change the description to "CHESS -SINS 1.1 Version"
Might try having the "Chess" set as a template or scenario template so it's defined. Then eliminate the frigate and capitalship factories from the PlayerTech/Psi/Phase.entity files so building additional ships is impossible? See if this map is the sort of thing you are imagining. I'm just throwing out ideas. If you deploy a beacon, it might not work properly and allow your dreads, carriers, titans, and mom to jump to it. Besides, you want the ships arriving/spawning on top of the cyno ship, not entering at the edge of the gravity well. Spawning prevents them from having to be mass produced in cruiser slots, cause if capitals you can only build so much. I really want about 50 races supported in the "Capitalship Name" area as only 3 are supported. To see a BORG capitalship with the same name/designation as TEC/PSI/PHASE capitalships just puts me off.

Why does SINS load everything, every mesh, texture, etc... instead of loading what is needed and unloading what isn't needed on a game by game basis? This particular issue pertains mostly to mods with additional races with unique meshes, textures, sounds, etc...

If you really want to replicate "Cyno"/Hot-dropping a dread fleet... Take that rapier's ability to spawn a titan and instead modify it to spawn 10 dreadnaught that are basically like the ability that spawns a missile platform. The immobility replicates SIEGE MODE perfectly -now just make them immune to everything except weapon damage.
