no offence but it takes 2-3 hard aggressor AIs to make a stalemate with a human...
What if Diplomacy were turned on and a 5 normal AI were ganged up on me? I can defend my bottleneck but can't really move out of it. What do I do if my enemies have about 4000 ship points worth of fleet in each of the two adjoining gravity wells?

I like the Vasari feedback voice where your "personal assistant" sounds annoyed. "Searrrching the planet has not found anything!" (Why did you waste our forces' precious time, dumbarse?)
I suggest using IRC channel. That's where I find games worth their salt. Otherwise I just beat on noobs :/
IRC is really where it should be at, but few younger people know about IRC these days; they're all using XFire which isn't as good for group chat. Anyone who enjoys playing the game online should be on Stardock's IRC server and channel: irc.stardock.net #sins And if you don't know how to use IRC, now would be a great time to learn! If you use
So, are there any reasons to spend Logistical slots on Refineries at all if Trade Ports are more profitable?
I wouldn't mind an Unlimited Fleet Capacity mod. That way if your economy is booming, your fleet can boom in size too, but perhaps that would muck up some aspects of the game's strategy. After all, it's not a stalemate if both you and your enemy each have 2000 supply points (or 2300 for the Vasari) worth of ships; eventually one of you won't be able to afford to replace the blown up ones anymore.
"It is left undefined because they don't want it set in stone that you are causing mass genocide. "This only makes sense if the administrators are the only people who live along the equator, with the bulk of of the population concentrated at the poles, safe from the reach of orbital bombardment.
Right! The administrators are in harm's way! In reality, they'd probably put children up on the rooftops for use as human shields while taking shelter in palatial underground bu
The way I look at it, $40 is pretty cheap. $40 for something that would likely give at least 20 hours of entertainment. Compare that to going to an amusement park, $20 for 3-5 hours of fun. Go bowling, that's around what, $20 for 2 hours these days? Relatively speaking, games are pretty inexpensive.
I've probably already gotten 40 hours worth of enjoyment out of my $40 purchase and I'm sure I'll be playing this great game for months if not years to come, especially if
I don't think it's all that powerful because it doesn't really allow you to transcend your ship points cap, at least not by more than a couple points (say, seven). From what I can tell, if you ship cap is at 2300 (maxxed out plus 15% bonus from research) you're not going to have more than 2300 support points worth of ships.
I'm playing an AI game and I'm maxxed out with 2300 ship points in what seems to be a stalemate. I have RA and it doesn't seem to be helping me to get above 2300 ship pts.
I would really like to see the AI changed so an AI on the other side of the star system or in a completely different star system will not attack another player or AI miles and miles away, that is NOT a threat to it.I would be nice to for the AI to have more of a "preference" to attack adjacent star systems first, expanding its empire as a higher priority.
I agree.
Follow up, I did a Google search for SOSE and "locked teams" and found a discussion about how if you reload a saved game, it doesn't save the settings or at least not the locked teams setting. Perhaps that was the problem. Hopefully this will be fixed with a patch.
Are there any mods to prevent more than two AI empires from ganging up on you at one time? I was just enjoying a single player campaign with 6 empires when three or four of them ganged up on me at once, overwhelming the planet I was using as a bottleneck. It had six hangers, two weapons jammers, and two regeneration healing bays as well as a 400 point fleet with two capital ships. I also had lots of money and resources and five frigate factories and one capital ship factory at that
What are the commands for registering a nick and for registering a channel? Also, would you guys have any interest in having a channel set up for Pickup Games (PUG) matches? The channel would have a program called a pugbot that would help facilitate games. It works like this. You type a command to sign up to play, such as .join, and when it fills to a given number of players (say six for 3-on-3) two people become team captains and draft the other players for their team. This has bee
I guess what I'd like to see in a random map generator is an ability to simply do this: Pick number of planets. Pick number of players. Pick number of stars. Pick types of planets. Pick diameter of star system(s). Instead I still find the current generator to be rather cryptic.
Instead of XFire--why not learn how to use Internet Relay Chat (IRC)? It's really easy and body slams XFire as far as group chat goes. (IRC is what us oldschoolers have been using since 1994.) There's an IRC channel for the Sins game: SERVER: irc.stardock.com CHANNEL: #sins If you use Firefox, download the Chatzilla plugin and then type: /server irc.stardock.com /join #sins It's that easy! Another good program is mIRC. Hey Stard
The problem is that when testing the variables with controls, I couldn't seem to make planters that were bunched or far away; I couldn't find much rhyme or reason to it. About phase lanes and connections, does the allowed length of phase lanes affect the number of connections? What exactly is the relationship?
Is anyone else having difficulty using the Map Designer to make random maps? I've experimented some with the different paramters and can't find much rhyme or reason to it. I've read the manual and it still isn't helping much. The sliders go from Red on the left to Green on the right. Intuitively it would seem that taking the slider to the right (Green) means more and that taking it to the left means less. Is that correct? Less <-------------&g
I've registered my store-bought game online with this website using my e-mail address and CD-key, and now I want to register with Ironclad Online (through the game) so that I can see what the online multiplayer action looks like. Do I need to use the exact same e-mail address that I registered the game and CD key with, or can I pick any name (and not an e-mail address) and any password I want for the in-game registration (with that same CD key)? My concern is that if you guys get
