It's March 2022 now, and we never got to hear what the exciting new was. Whether or not it's going to happen, does it still need to remain a secret?

Is anyone still here? Beuler? Bueler? Any updates?
I haven't kept up with things so I'm not sure what "Cider" is exactly (an engine?), but I hope that Unannounced game 2 [Cider] is Sins-2. It was teased on Facebook a week ago or so when a poll was put up about whether people wanted to have a campaign mode. If a Sins-2 were in development or planned, why all of the secrecy? Is there a concern that some other studio would rush out a competing game?
What about me (WHIPperSNAPper)? I don't make the list somewhere? It's incomplete and could probably be tripled in size.
Who is this for? Where does this come from? What are the criteria? Context.
It's a reference to the skill level of pro players who play in the (vanilla) 5v5's - 10 real guys, no AI's (TM).
Here's a replay of a crazy 4 on 4 pro player game that I played a couple days ago. You can spectate and see everything each player does in the game, allowing you to study the pros and see how they do it. You need to have the DLC's installed to watch: http://www.mediafire.com/file/bb8bcnf8wb7nk9l/Crazy+SOSE+4v4+Pro+game.
A pro player's wishes for Sins-2 (aside from the obligatory engine optimizations, 64-bit, multithreaded, etc.) not necessarily in order: (1) Make few if any changes to the basic game play. The best way to screw up the sequel to a successful game is to start messing around with a winning formula. That doesn't mean that another race or two can't be added or that more planet types and logistical and tactical structures can't be added or that the tech tree can't be expanded, etc. It's
I'm in! But it'll be 11:00 am for me. More like Game Morning, lol.
Galactic Civilizations II and Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion made PC Gamer's list of the best strategy games
Perhaps this is a sign...that Ironclad should make a Sins-2 or that Stardock should purchase the IP from Ironclad and make a Sins-2.
What is the newest version of Galaxy Forge? I went to use the one that's built in to my current Sins Install (the one with two side menus) and although it says I can set a planet to be one of the new planet types (barren, greenhouse, ocean, ferrous, etc.) the selected planet doesn't end up looking like the proper type of planet selected; it just looks like a barren, say. Is that just how it is - you can tell a planet to be Oceanic but it looks like a Barren in Galaxy Forge?

Great. I sure hope this reduces late game lag a little bit. At this point the game has probably come as far as it can on its current engine. I hope you guys and Ironclad will soon make a definitive decision on whether or not to produce a Sins-2, and if not, to sell the IP to a competent studio.
IMHO the real problem is not the pros playing the 5s games. It's all of the people who play single player offline (who have the time to play online) and the people who come online and only play comp stomps with their friends. That's the reason why there aren't more games available for lower skilled players - because they're all playing comp stomps instead of each other. Alternatively, perhaps those newer players who are interested in online multiplayer PvP si
Wow, I didn't know that this forum was still alive until you said something about posting this in Steam chat. You should also post this at the /r/SOSE reddit and the Steam forums: https://www.reddit.com/r/SoSE/ http://steamcommunity.com/app/204880/discussions/
I'm hoping for Sins-2, but whether that will ever happen is hard to say, at least within the next 5 years. No one has heard anything from Ironclad for some time and it seems reasonable to guess that they're in the process of disbanding after their disastrous MOBA experiment. My guess is that they're trying to sell the Sins IP and can't agree on a price with Stardock or other suitors.
I don't mean to ask a stupid question but is the dlc any fun at all? Does it make any difference in 5s games on ICO? If so please explain because i haven't yet purchased anything or is it free?
The new DLC doesn't add anything for Team PvP games. It just ends up feeding XP to capital ships and titans.
Have there been any updates on the status of the Tachyion project?
Sins, by the nature of its maps, has the ability to have random maps in MP. I don't know how many of you saw that we hired the guy who helped make Battle.net for Blizzard but that was recently announced and he's leading the team that's going to be building the backend to allow us to make sure our games have a much better meta experience. So for instance, what I'd like to see with Sins is that players can
Later in the game the limit is going to be people's CPU's. Faster speed setting is fine, we just need a multi-threaded game without a memory restriction.
Project Tachyon sounds like a good idea, but since it wasn't really announced in this forum, I suspect that it isn't the big announcement Brad hinted at.
I've also been keeping a close eye on this forum, too, waiting to see what the big announcement will be.
The problem is not that someone with an 800 game record takes up a new name. You know what you're in for if you see someone with a record like that in a PvP game. The problem is people who reinstall the game and have a record of 30 games played under the new account.
For Sins-2, can we get a warning/confirmation box before a planet is scuttled, especially a homeworld. Something like, "Scuttle Planet - Are you sure you want to do this? "
Feel like updating them Whip? Those were some of the highlights at the peak of MP.
I really don't think it's worth the time and effort at this point. However, I might remake some maps for Sins-2, especially if it has auto-download for custom maps.
