Diplomacy in its final patch was the most balanced version of Sins. IMHO, it was the pinnacle of Sins for competitive play.
I wonder if the feed button amounts could be modded.

Welcome! What Ekko Tek said. It sounds like you're ready to move up. As a general rule, if you're experienced playing other RTS games in online PvP, you should be able to pick this up pretty quickly and you'll do just fine. Here's a link to Grimm's excellent guide: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=161168470#-1 The Raging Amish unit guide is getting outdated, but it's worth a read, too: <a title
My wish, which I've been pining for since 2008, is auto-download for custom maps.

I'd also like an option for every frigate/cap ship factory to adjust the settings for (1) auto-attack range and (2) auto-join fleet. What if I want my new ships to simply move to a certain location and hold position instead of suicidally charging the enemy fleet?
I hadn't looked at it until today. That's awesome! It must have taken hours, perhaps days to do that. You've done a great service to the community. It should be essential reading for all new players who want to get into multiplayer PvP.
[quote who="Ohoh2" reply="7" id="3424129"] The Radiance is by far more efficient in this field than any other capital ship because DA's AM cost is low, the cool-down is low and absorptive armour converts damage to AM reserves. 10 v 10, maybe. Maybe that would be playable. I really can't see much more than 7v7 being practical. Can you imagine picking teams with 20 players? One is guaranteed to be AFK and then of course, someone is going to minidump when the game loads. Then they'll always be someone on the losing team who will drag it out for another 3 hours.
It would be really silly not to produce a Sins-2. Most of the concept work is already done. They just need to add another race and maybe one more capital ship type per race and then they can justify producing the same content on a new engine. Hopefully they would make an improved online multiplayer interface and allow for 7-v-7 games.
According to various reports, Stardock CEO and owner Brad Wardell has played a key role in forming a new company, Oxide, that will make an engine that could potentially be used for Sins-2. I wish there were a way to do a mass scuttle.
Anyone who comes online to play against human opponents is, almost by definition, more skilled than the 99.5% of people who never tried to play it vs. a human player.
Adding ground combat has to be one of the dumbest ideas I've come across in some time. It's a space-based RTS, not a ground combat RTS.
Suzhizhang should be on the list, and I feel like chopped liver.
Just about anyone who plays it online is playing on the Rebellion expansion.
Sins is going to be 6 years old in two months. I'm not a gaming industry economist, but there has to be some amount of time after the release of the initial game where players have "forgotten" about the existence of the initial game and where your sequel becomes a new, unfamiliar game with the number "2" after its name. In other words, over time the fanbase for the original game is likely to "age out" of gaming or to have become invested in other game franchises. I&#
I'm kind of hoping that they won't make another DLC. This game on its current engine has run its course, IMHO. In two months it will be 6 years old. Instead of more DLC, it's time to begin work on a multi-threaded Sins-2.
I agree with the OP. It's pretty underwhelming, at least for people who have no interest in random events. However, I do like the new neutral extractor wells and the ship graveyard.
Thanks guys. Guess I've spent too much time playing and not enough time reading the forums. I think I'd much rather have a Discord over a (useless) Revelation. That's a very nice guide, btw, Sagewon. It's obvious you put a lot of effort into it. Will a Radiance "freeze" a missile barrage? Because that would be my top pick. As far as I know it just detonates antimatter but won't freeze an ability that's been cast.
As of the current version of the game, what is the list of capital ships that have ability interrupt abilities? (Detonating anti-matter is nice, but for the purpose of this thread, I'd like to get a list of ships that will actually interrupt opposing caps' abilities.) Specifically, I want to be able to freeze Marza missile barrages. TEC: Akkan Ion Bolt ADVENT: Revelation Reverie VASARI: Maurauder Phase Out Hull The Re
